adcal-d3
You can ask that question of your GP when you contact them to request the AdCal D3 prescription.
Your pharmacist might also advise you xx
I can’t imagine why ad cal d 3 would be a problem /. That’s only adding 400 I . U. more of vitamin d 3 , so you would have a total of 1400 i. u. per day. Unless your vitamin d level is very high that’s not a problem . I take 5000 vit d 3 per day but I don’t go out in the sun a lot and this keeps my vit d level in my blood at about 50 which is a good level.
Plus it’s great for my bones!
I just looked up instructions on the internet for ad cal d 3- it says take 2 per day so if you do that you’d have 1000 you now take plus 800 i.u. per day = 1800 which for a lot of people is not enough.
thanks, what about the k2-mk 7 I take can I take them altogether, I take 20mg of pantoprazole a day, I don't know if I am absorbing calcium properly.
You need like at least 100 k2 m7 some people take 200. I take 100 personally.
Idk what pantoprazole is. I’ve had calcium urine test where they test to see if my calcium is going out of my pee. I had to give all my pee in 24 hours of time. And they found out I was not losing calcium which I guess means I am absorbing it
It’s best to take calcium at least two hours apart from d3 and k2 m7 .
I take 200ug of k2-mk7,pantoprazole is a ppi for my hiatus hernia, I just hope adcal-d3 chewable tablets don't effect my stomach, oncologist said to take 1 a day.
there are so many calciums that don’t bother stomach in case it does. Just take the ad cal with food
can't take adcal-d3 with food because there's a lot of other foods that block calcium,
It's really important to take adcal with food, because both vitamin D and calcium need it for absorption. However, it's better still to get your calcium from diet if possible.
yeah, it won't work having adcal-d3 with other foods because they block the calcium
But if you read the instructions, it says to take with food.
yeah, but it has to be calcium, adcal-d3 should not be taken within 2hrs of other foods, look on Google and it will tell you the foods that block calcium, I used to take mine for breakfast with oatmeal before I found out oatmeal blocks calcium.
Some foods reduce the absorption of calcium, but don't block it altogether. I know it's difficult to avoid these foods, but if you're getting plenty of calcium in your diet, I wouldn't worry too much about when you're taking your calcium supplement. However, it's essential to take D3 with a meal containing fat, so, as they're combined in the Adcal supplement, that should guide when you take it. Don't believe everything you read on Google!
There has never been a double blind study to show that Calcium supplements help with Osteoporosis. Someone simply decided that because bones contain calcium it would be a good idea. There is plenty of evidence to show that too much calcium is harmful. It is known that vitamin K2 is needed to help calcium get into the bones.
I stopped taking adcal because I was getting little lumps under my skin, despite taking extra K2. Who knows where else calcium was being dumped in my body? Minerals need to be balanced and work with each other. Not enough is known about them.
It does not take too much effort to look up recommended daily amounts of calcium, which food contain what amounts, and work out how much you are consuming in the food you normally eat. If you are not getting enough, simply eat more calcium containing foods. Magnesium and other minerals are equally important to calcium....in my opinion proper foods contain a range of them which work together.
It's also worth looking up what contributes to osteoporosis and to stop doing any of the known harmful contributors. I made quite a few changes to my diet and lifestyle. Two examples are that I stopped having fizzy drinks (most of which contain phosphoric acid) and I make sure that I consume plenty of greens (which I have always disliked, so I disguise them in smoothies and soups etc)
We are all different and need to start with where our diet is at to begin with....and then decide how to alter or supplement. Hope some of this helps. Di Do xx
thanks, I have just been speaking to the nurse at the royal osteoporosis society and she said that 1 adcal-d3 a day is no problem, and will be good for my severe osteoporosis, and she said do not read to many problems with calcium supplements.
yeah but with severe osteoporosis it's hard to absorb calcium because of other foods blocking absorption, plus people with severe osteoporosis can't do weight training to strengthen the bones, all the weight training is for osteoporosis, and not severe osteoporosis.
