URSO and Fatigue
750 mg Also, wondering about the fatigue….does it lighten up after your body gets accustomed to
Urso
? I still have days where i need to sleep more, but i think they are becoming fewer!

Question about urso
I’ve been on
urso
10 months. Neurology referral pending. Has
urso
affected anyone’s muscles with cramping, weakness or spasms? Mine may have been a bit worse but hard to tell. Comes in waves. Just trying to sort it out. Thanks in advance.

ALT and AST
I have been
URSO
for 4 months and will have bloods drawn in May. IF i am a responder (fingers crossed) and my ALP has started to lower, will my AST and ALT lower as well? Somebody told me that if your ALT is high, you definitely have cirrhosis….

I am new to the group
I am fortunate in that I have responded well to
URSO
and my latest blood test results are within normal ranges I have my first hospital appointment since diagnosis and initial telephone follow-up next week and would appreciate advice on how to get the best out of it.

Second line therapy

This a term used In PBC a patient does not respond to
- usually within a year's time from the start of dosing. A different drug of choice is needed.

Make sure you are on the right dose of
Urso
. This is SO important. On the PBC Foundation website there is a very informative link and use of the calculator. Please take the time to look at this.
Urso
dosage is ONLY based on your body weight - NEVER on lab results or symptoms.

Taking Urso
I have a question about
Urso
. Is it fine to take your
Urso
in one dose instead of two? I never forget mornings. I also have no reactions to taking it so far after two and a half months. I also have a question about bone density tests.

Fibroscan
My ALP did rise though, so my Dr. upped my
Urso
. I take two, 250 pills in the am, and two in the evening. I also added Vitamin D, B and an Omega 3 pill. I do have Osteoporosis. Looking for ways to stop the rise of my ALP? Anyone have ideas? Also, some other vitamins that are good for us with PBC!

previous question
Someone recently asked me about taking
Urso
after my transplant and the return of the disease for me. I can't find the post but I wanted to answer. I have taken
Urso
since I was 35 years old. I am now 73. I have had no real problems with it all these years luckily.

Couldn't agree more..
Many patients take this because of not being able to tolerate
Urso
or being a partial responder to it. Dr. Gish is truly a defender of what he knows is best for the PBC community. We can only pray that 'those who be' come to think otherwise about denying use of this drug.

overlap RA, medication?
I have had PBC for 15 years, controlled well by
URSO
. In terms of RA, rheumatologist says this really limits medications given so many of the standard RA medications can damage the liver. For now I am on steroids. Can anyone else in the PBC community speak to any experience with this? TIA

Take all Urso dose at once?
He writes that it’s better to take all daily
Urso
dose at night. Advice on mine is twice a day with or after food. Any thoughts?

Experiences with urso, ocaliva and bezafibrate
Hi everyone!I was just curious about your experiences taking a combination of udca, ocaliva 10 mg and bezafibrates. Does it improve the itching? Did you notice any unwanted side effect from bezafibrate, e.g. in kidneys? Thanks for sharing and stay healthy and motivated!

responder........[/i][/u] Right now the criteria used is that the patients' alkaline phosphatase result is LESS than 1.67 times the upper limits of normal and the bilirubin results are less than one time the upper limits of normal. I know this can be very confusing.
