Jones' book sometimes people will stop taking their Urso because their liver function tests have returned to normal. If your liver enzymes have returned to the normal range it just means that the Urso is working. The PBC isn't cured - it is just controlled.

i.e. " Am I a responder to Urso?" "Am I a non responder?" Don't just reply 'yes' when he asks if you are taking your Urso.
He said that if you ask very specific questions, then the doctor can't just glaze over an answer as they often do. He has to answer your very direct question.

Today I want to go to something very basic - your Urso dosage.
1. is the proven first line treatment for PBC and should be started as soon as PBC is suspected
2. The dose is [u]always[/u] based solely on your body weight - NEVER symptoms or lab results.

Just checking in...
For someone who may have started with results in 5-6-700 or more, then after taking Urso for awhile, they may have numbers in the 300's. What an improvement for them! It's not really beneficial to compare numbers. I had a friend the other day who, after taking Urso, her alk phos was 160.
