I picked up a Resmed CPAP machine with a nasal only mask yesterday from our local Guildford (Surrey) NHS hospital to hopefully remove my mild sleep apnoea and stop me waking around 3 times every night. Any comments on member's experience would be appreciated. In particular before I start, do members

insomnia 10 hours in 4 days
hi everyone. I have Mytonia Congenita and a lot of over conditions, arthritis etc. One of those is sleep apnea, which I wear a CPAP machine for. However the past 6 months I’ve had horrific insomnia! I’m talking it’s so bad I’m getting about 4 hours in every 24! I honestly don’t know what to do anymore

Sleep Apnea and afib
Greetings across the pond........I'm 81 and have been dealing with afib for 11years. I had my first ablation 2 weeks ago and was back in afib 4 days later. Today I had a cardioversion which was successful; and of course, I hope it lasts. The team who administered the procedure reported that sleep apnea

Sleep issues
My wife has a tentative diagnosis of MSA. She has serious issues with excessive daytime and early evening sleeping. We will get the results of a sleep study this week. It is possible that there will be confirmation of sleep apnea, mainly because of her night time breathing stopping, for up to 30

Long time no talk!
hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I’m sure it was as hectic as mine! I sure am glad it’s over lol. Before the holidays I had a sleep study done. The study showed I have sleep apnea, in the 7 hours of testing I had 154 episodes of either full obstructive apnea for longer than 10 seconds

BUPRENORPHINE SUBLINGUAL BREAKDOWN AFTER 9 MONTHS TOTAL TREATMENT SUCCESS.
A week ago I titrated from the very successful 0.6 mg Buprenorphine sublingual I’d been on for 9 months during which time my PLMS disappeared completely. But they returned 7 days or so back so with my doctors’ reluctant support the dosage was increased to 2 x 0.4 tablets = 0.8. Five nights at the

Immunocompromised?
Hi everyone I have looked at some pinned articles and still wanted to put this question out there. As a person who is Stage 0, is in W&W who has healthy RBC, Platelets and Immunoglobulin numbers… am I still considered immunocompromised? My WBC number is currently around 34. I work in large crowds

Had my quarterly follow up appointment with Sleep Apnoea clinic yesterday. All well apart from news I need a new face mask as current one has magnets which can affect medical implants such as pacemaker or even metallic stents. Phillips have recalled and Resmed have issued warning letter. If you have

20 hours of non-injecting
Having completed a two week trial I did not inject until my stuffy head came back. It was then three days of recovery but nothing severe. I thought that I might be experiencing shortness of breath at about 6 hours but nothing definitive. I woke up at 11 am with my stuffy head and injected and went

Does chronic pain ever go away for elderly?
Hi everyone. Does chronic pain and numbness ever go away? Feeling really helpless right now. Every month there's ups and downs but then the downs come back and just "erased" the progress. Is this it? Is this what retirement is like when you have chronic pain? What we're dealing with: 1) Herniated discs

New Symptom or at least an exacerbation of an old one: pulsatile tinnitus.
Recently attempted another crack at taking T3 without too much success. In between times, can’t be absolutely sure exactly when, I have developed a new symptom I would like to check to see if anyone else has experienced similar. Two years ago after commencing with a new prescription of levo at 75mcg

sleep apnea and afib
According to monitoring with apple watch, my over night pulse rate often goes into the low 40s. In addition when I check in the morning I am often in afib. I have sleep apea and use a CPAP. Just wondering if anyone else has these low overnight pulse rates and any linkage to sleep apnea triggering afib

Link between Severe Sleep Apnea & Back Pain?
Before your severe sleep apnea diagnosis, did you experience back pain, insomnia, and frequent nighttime urination (more than 10+ throughout the night)? If so, after starting CPAP therapy, did all 3 of their things improve drastically?
