A horrible year on Cpap

Good day: 68 year old, female. BMI 25.5. Resistant hypertension, stage 3b kidney disease. Polymyalgia Rheumatica/ Giant Cell Arteritis. MGUS. So, one sick puppy. Put on CPap/Apap back in January of 2023. It has been total hell since it started. Been through 10 different masks. They all leak. They all cause headaches. Am developing Central Apnea from too much air, then not enough. Sleep doctor as useful as a bicycle for a fish. Hates Apap, which I do better on, and wants me on CPap. Keeps telling me I am fine. Wake up with headache, stuffy nose when using machine, feel like a can of busted biscuits in the morning. Waking BP is 185/108. Am on 3 different BP meds. I know the apnea/Cpap is raising night time BP. I have regrowth of adenoid tissue and deviated septum. When I use Nasalcort or Flonase breathing improves and I have worsening symptoms from Cpap, so know I am getting too much air. Sleep doctor will not listen. My primary doctor suggested I see a specialist at our local university who does the Inspire implants. She says I may be a candidate. Anybody use the Inspire?

Hi, I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea in 2014, the equipment can take a while to get used to, generally speaking it is part of my bedtime routine now. This is only my opinion, however, if you've had 10 different masks and you are always experiencing air leaking, it sounds to me like you are possibly tightening your mask too much; I know it sounds weired, but, having it too tight can be as bad as not tight enough.

I fought the full mask for months-leaked like a sieve. I finally purchased the nasal pad. it was so much better but I did wake up with a dry gross mouth. So I then saw the suggestion to "tape" your mouth---it works.
