Not sure if I have a flare or withdrawal
Diagnosed with GCA in 10/2020 and put on 80 mg of Prenisone ( which saved my eye sight).Following my rheumatologists orders, I tapered down to 10 mg by 10/22. I was quite miserable with arm, shoulder and hip pains that my rheumatologist told me to go up to 20 mg. I was checked out ( with blood tests

Ramblings of an old Parky , Vitamins and finding a professional methodology
I have read so much information on this theme that I should know the subject, but I do not , and the more I read the more I appreciate those professionals that study and research it . My general understanding is that in the past a diet resulting from a complete lack of a particular vitamin would cause

Advice urgently needed: Endo reducing levo dose yet again based on flawed blood results.
Hello everyone I had thyroidectomy 1992 and since then been on levothyroxine. Roughly, 6 weeks ago levo dose was reduced by GP from 75/50mcg alternate days, to 50mcg daily due to T4 being over range. A very toxic iodine based medication I'm prescribed to treat afib, namely Amiodarone, is pushed T4 over

Iodine Uptake?
I need to use iodine solution, but am not sure what "absorption of iodine from this solution may lower the iodine uptake of the thyroid" means in terms of my hypothyroidism. Does the reduction of uptake mean that I will be more hypo, or less?

my mother has autoimmune liver disease and severe osteoporotic back pain. She has been prescribed codeine which she takes most days but the side effects are debilitating. What painkillers are sage and effective for her?

I am currently taking 300 mg Pregabalin around 7pm and 2x 30 g of codeine (sometimes 3x 30g) during the night. I am also taking ferrous sulphate at 10pm each night. This isn’t working. I take the first codeine half an hour before bedtime and maybe sleep for 1 to 2hours. I then have to walk around/have

Newly diagnosed
Hi all, diagnosed 4th May after episode of very rapid heart beats that wouldn't stop. Went to A & E where the diagnosis of AF was made. Stayed in for 5 days while they did CT scan of lungs and ultra sound of leg. Reason for that was that I had no symptom at all until a partial knee replacement 2nd March

New pain between the shoulder blades and in other places.
hello all, I posted a few days ago about having a lot of new pain that is affecting my sleep, when I’m lying down the pain is much worse. Also I have a new pain near my right ankle, not the joint, maybe a tendon?, and walking hurts! On the forum I was advised to see my GP. She is out of

Just joined the group... thank you! Hoping for some help, been on levothyroxine now for over 23 years, it was effective for a few years, but the weight, joint aches started and got worse. The usual for underactive thyroid. Anyway fast forward 20 plus years, the weight sticks better than Gorilla Glue

Low Blood Pressure.
i have very different problems concerning my A-Fib compared to most of you. So will go in to a bit of history of my latest health fiasco. I am 77 and have had low blood pressure a long as I can remember. I developed A-Fib about 7 years ago. Therefore I can’t take the Beta blockers because they

Apixaban (Eliquis) and Omega 3 supplements
Hey All!! Question...Are others who take Apixaban (Eliquis) also taking Omega 3 supplements (that include DHA)? I've read that it could be problematic...increase length of time for bleeding, etc. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!
