I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia today and put on 100mg of carbamazepine (Tegretol) which the GP wants to increase gradually. Apart from the horrendous pain, I am worried about carrying on with my job.

Neurologist says is trigeminal neuralgia. She has started me on carbamazepine. Has anyone had this? Can you offer any advice? Thanks!

Lyrica has certainly helped my chronic trigeminal neuralgia. Nerve pain is different, depending on the cause, but if your doctor has prescribed Lyrica for your pain, I would not worry about taking it.

I’ve had Trigeminal neuralgia for 2 years and currently take 800mg of Tegretol. Has anyone tried any canaboid treatments in place of Tegretol or other pharmaceutical drugs? I’d prefer to stop using Tegretol as it has some serious side effects.

hello everyone, does anyone use an electric toothbrush and they also have trigeminal neuralgia?, I stopped using my electric toothbrush in fear of the pressure causing/triggering the pain. Now I feel as though my teeth are not as clean.

Hello peeps, I’m in terrific pain in my mouth and face, doc thinks could be Trigeminal neuralgia. Honestly feels like Jaw is splitting at hinge. Anyone else on Carbamazapine? It’s lower dose atm but think it’s helping a bit, can anyone comment. I’m in Hell!

having developed Trigeminal Neuralgia in 2023 from the impact of my AN, I started Carbamazepine in Dec 2023. Although this has reduced headaches considerably I’m now left (6months on) with severe motivation issues. I just struggle to do anything other than respond.

I have been given two options either to go for the gamma Knife surgery which is a targeted Radiotherpy or to go for surgery to remove it. they feel that surgery would be the best options because if the radiotherpy can cause swelling which can cause me Trigeminal neuralgia which can be very painful and

Neuro ruled out myasthenia and trigeminal neuralgia. I already have an auto-immune desease so i'm not gonna be surprise to have an other one. I just want to know how you were diagnosed because doctor are about to run out of test.

After many years of suffering with facial neuralgia. I have finally got a diagnosis of Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). For me this means constant facial pain (migraine earache and toothache all at the same time ) I am told this is a very rare health condition .

I had grade 3 keratosis of the eyes in 2020 which was treated and 4 weeks later had trigeminal neuralgia through the whole year I also had what my max fax colleague told me was oral shingles. I have problems with the joints in my back I’m tired all the time and any help.
