Bempodoic Acid
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed Bempodoic Acid for those who are unable to tolerate statins and if so, what were their thoughts on them ?I am being offered these after years of being prescribed every statin going, and even ezitembe. My body just doesn't cope with the associated side

Hi Everyone, I responded to the above post yesterday or the day before but I don't see it now. The advice I gave was based on my husband's experience with statins and I thought it would have. been very useful to the person who posted the question. I'm just wondering, who moderates this? Thanks for

Statins and Fatty Liver
Can anyone give me some advice. I’ve been put on a statin for my cholesterol. My G.P then said we will do a blood test in two months to make sure it’s not effecting my liver. As someone with fatty liver (unsure if I still have it) and lots of health anxiety around my liver I’m worried.

statins
Just been offered statins but not because of cholesterol and weighing up the pros and cons as the doctor has also told me taking it increases the chances of me developing diabetes. Wondered if you have any information about the side effects?

Don't Delay Too Long
On this and other forums I see many posts by those who do not want to take medication for raised BP and/or cholesterol and/or HbA1c (an indicator of diabetes). Often they say they will address this by diet and exercise but fail to do so in the first six months but promise to try harder! Someone I know

Olumiant and raised Lipids
I have been on the above medication for 3 years now and it works well. My Cholesterol levels are rising, now 6 and also raised Triglycerides. The GP has written to a senior Pathologist to seek advice. They have suggested Atorvastatin 20mg. My husband cannot take statins as upsets his stomach and my stomach

Pins and needles
I am 4 weeks post HA and stent. In the last week have been waking up in the night with pins and needles down left side. Was bad last night and took 3 hrs to get back to sleep due to resulting anxiety. Spoke to my cardiac nurse who says it's nothing to do with the drugs. She says none of them have that

Blood results following increase in Levothyroxine dose
Thoughts please. In March I had bloods taken showing TSH 5.64 and Free Thyroxine 14.4. I had been taking 25micrograms of Levothyroxine for several years as considered sub clinical . The same blood test showed raised cholesterol. GP wanted to try increasing Levothyroxine dose before recommending statins

Just told my ejection fraction is 45%, GP put me on statins and awaiting appointment with consultant cardiologist. No symptoms other than occasional mild chest pains after exercise. No idea what to expect now, just wondered if anyone here can give me an insight of what's next.

thrush……again
For the past three months I’ve been trying to get rid of a bad taste in my mouth. The roof of my mouth feels like I’ve burned my mouth on a too hot pizza. The middle of my tongue is coated the tip is somewhat red. My dentist said X-rays show no infection. GP looked in my mouth and said

Advice re Statins
A few years back I was was started on Simvastatin as a random blood test showed that my overall cholesterol was in the 7s. Some time later my GP changed this to Atorvastatin as my cholesterol remained high. I then developed terrible anxiety, which everyone said was unrelated to the Atorvastatin, but

Life expectancy
Hello everyone, I was under the impression that AF did not lower life expectancy providing we stay anti-coagulated but it seems I've been living under a misapprehension. I've just filled out the NHS online "heart age" calculator to determine my risk of heart attack or stroke. I am 76 but my heart age
