I have tried all statins and a drug called Ezerimibe last week which ended up with me at the hospital sunday night as blood pressure hit 190 plus.My gp is writing to the lipid clinic for further advice, was just wondering does anybody else use a drug other than statins?

Also started new regime with my tablets today,ie i take them later in the morning.

Thank you to the person who said to try.

I'm on Ezetimibe and Rosuvastatin. No issues at all, it seems rosuvastatin is the only statin, so far, that I can tolerate. BP is well controlled around 130/80. I'm on Losartan as well to control my BP, again I seem to tolerate that well compared to other drugs I've been on.

The statin isn't to control blood pressure, it's to control cholesterol, same with ezetimibe.

A possible, but uncommon, side effect of ezetimibe is raised blood pressure. Rosuvastatin isn't known to have that side effect. You need to chase your doctor about the issue, he/she should be aware of what to do.

Hello and sorry to hear of your experience with statins. I have just been diagnosed with narrowing of the coronary arteries and prescribed statins, asprin and GTN spray. Wondered if there is anything natural that will off what statins do? I understand they nor only lower cholesterol [I don’t have an elevated level] but prevent the plaque breaking away and causing an obstruction [stroke, heats attack]. So, is there anything that stabilises the plaque? Take good care everyone.
