Pre-CRPC Supplements/Drugs - Potential Risks vs Rewards?
With some substances there could be a "tipping" point depending on the substance, the dosage and the patient's stage of cancer where the substance may have a higher chance of having a negative effect instead of positive. It usually relates to ROS levels. Adequate levels of ROS are important for cancer

hello I had open heart surgery in June to repair my mitral valve. The surgery was a great success, I’ve recovered well and I am back to working full time. However, whereas before surgery I very rarely got Ill , I now seem to pick up every big going 🤦🏻♀️ And end up quite poorly. I am on statins and

Feeling a bit frightened
Hello All - I have just gotten blood tests back indicating that my cholesterol is at the "risk level" (very high). I was on an introductory dose of statins, and now my GP is doubling the dose. I know this sounds silly, but I'm feeling very fragile today. Heart disease does run in my family and they

Safe and useful to take K2 MK7 after stent and under clopidogrel ??
After ordinary check up, my cardiologist diagnosed a block of branch and prescribed coronarography... during the procedure placing of a stent and since then I have to take the "usual" cocktail: clopidogrel (for maybe 1 year?) + 80mg statins + asaflow + ramipril... I'm looking for something else, to

Gp denial
I SAW ONE OF MY GPS YESTERDAY CONCERNING MEDICATION FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE recom by my renal clinic, when asked about statin medication he denied that statins raised blood sugars, he seems either he lied to me, or is not looking at information about statin drugs

Starting Statins.
I’ve had permanent AF for three years, now 78 and am on Apixaban and low dose bisoprolol as well as thyroxine and pramipexole for RLS . After recent blood tests Surgery decided I should be on Statins. Atorvastatin now perscibed but not started. Seems to be a safety net as Cholesterol is within normal

Hit the wall again!
so I’ve been trying to reduce from the 10mg I was sort of ok on. Well after tapering over a couple of months I’m down to 9mg again and once again I’m in a lot more pain. It’s especially bad at about 3:30am when it really is painful to move. I’m very stiff in the morning after getting up around 6-7am,

statins
Doc wants me to start statins and I’ve always been very reluctant due to a bad reaction but recently had a call from the Pharmacist for a review and she said I could take one statin once a week and it would still help, not everyday which is usual! Has anyone else been given this advice and is it a thing

Atorvastatin triggering AF?
I wonder if anyone has heard of a statin being the actual trigger for AF? I found one article that said that a 61 year old man had developed AF two weeks after being put on Simvastatin, but that was back in 2003 and since then most articles seem to say that statins are beneficial and reduce AF. The reason
