High cholesterol.

Hi, had ablation for ectopics few months ago, but they have come back a bit. Cholesterol is 6.8, hdl 1.2. BP 140/65 ish . Can’t tolerate statins, tried 4, as dissolve muscles, tried Ezitimibe, caused intolerable gut irritation. Will try to lose weight, what else can I do? Just started supplement of fibre, to help absorb fat from gut. Any recommendations welcome. I do Pilates and Aquaerobics at gym twice a week each, and not much walking.

high cholesterol can be brought down a bit by diet, but not much. Saying that, it’s always worth getting the levels down even just a little bit. I’m two years older than you but I do manage an average of over 9000 steps a day, and I do Joe Wickes every morning on utube (search for Joe Wickes Seniors). Walking and exercise help with my arthritis too.
