Hi everyone Still hanging in there - this has been my worst flare to date. Have had two doses of chemotherapy - cyclophosphamide plus three other bags of 'juice' to offset the side effects. So far so good with nausea and mouth ulcers which are supposed to come with it. Have to take a liquid

Was it from Mary Poppins? Itwas certainly on the promenade at Blackpool. What was it?
This thought came from reading a blog that was questioned and I have thought hard and the endorphines we release when we write about humourous things are good for fibro! Anything that is good is blinking wonderful now the answer is the Laughing Policeman. We used to sell animated toys based on him

Caelyx and Myocet
Dear ladies, I've noticed that Myocet keeps coming up in the questions, and some of you have been offered it. Last week my oncologist told me that Caelyx is coming back in production, after having been out of circulation for more than a year. Caelyx is made of the same substance as Myocet, but is

Since having lupus do you suffer with sensitive teeth? It's all my teeth.
Have used sensitive teeth toothpaste for years now but funnily enough aziothiaprine has actually helped??? Lupus consultants say there isn't a link between sensitive teeth and lupus as far as they are concerned at least. What do you think?

kidney disease and diabetes
I've been insulin dependent for over 40 years and on dialysis coming up to 1 year. I have noticed that since starting dialysis my blood sugar levels are really difficult to control. It doesn't seem to take much to make my readings sky high and i'm taking more insulin than ever to try and keep things

Cold Sores
Have been on azathaprine for a couple of months and have recently developed a cold, which has got worse and have some terrible cold sores. I am sure I had read something about cold sores somewhere, am I being paranoid or dreaming? Wonder if I should go to my GP.

Peritoneal Dialysis or Haemo?
Currently being "worked up" for living donor transplant from my brother but need to make a decision on dialysis as a back up. Am thinking of PD rather than Haemo. Can anyone tell me whether there is any discomfort when "carrying" the fluid in your peritoneum. Not sure how much fluid goes in but do you

After dental work, my teeth seem to crumble! Help!!
over the past year, anytime I've had dental work done, the tooth that was worked on breaks apart! I have lost the upper molars on both sides of my mouth! I have tried taking good care of my teeth but am now certain I have a cavity that needs filling. I am terrified to go to the dentist for fear of losing

Does anyone take Renagel (Sevelamer hydrochloride) and have any side effects?
I was on Calcichew for years and quite happy on it. The Doctor changed it as my phosphate levels were getting higher.

Sores in my nose....
I've been living with Churg-Strauss for eight years and have been up and down the pred doses in that time. For the last few months I've been experiencing sores in my nose that bleed. I thought they were cold sores but now I'm not so sure. Both sides of my septum are sore and bleeding pretty much all

Help with thrush!
Hi. I take symbicort twice daily and use bricanyl as and when and generally things are well controlled at the moment. However, I've had a problem with my throat/voice for about 6 months now. It started with a throat infection that wouldn't go and after 7(!!!!) weeks of antibiotics I had thrush in

Has anyone else experienced a vesico-vaginal fistula?
I'm due to have a repair of a vesico-vaginal fistula in October. This is a post-op complication that occurred after major surgery for ovarian cancer last November. This results in urine leaking into the vagina. I have been told that they will need to make a cut to do the repair and I believe I will need

New ROCC on the block in Wales
This week I've become a Regional Co-ordinator for Ovacome (ROCC). I went along for a training session at the Ovacome Office in Old Street, London. It was great to meet two other trainee volunteers, Gill and Sue, who will be ROCCs in the Berkshire and Birmingham areas. I hadn't quite realised before how

How we chose and adjusted to dialysis - it's not the end of the world!
Hi, My husband (D) is 70 and has end stage renal failure. As he is new to dialysis I thought I would share our experience of choosing and adjusting in case other people find it useful. As any decisions would affect both our lives we made them jointly with the help of EXCELLENT information and support
