kidney disease and diabetes

I've been insulin dependent for over 40 years and on dialysis coming up to 1 year. I have noticed that since starting dialysis my blood sugar levels are really difficult to control. It doesn't seem to take much to make my readings sky high and i'm taking more insulin than ever to try and keep things under control. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
