Dad has been bedridden for 2 months Post-Covid
Hi all, my father has been in a wonderful rehab center since 5/23. He is slowly, very slowly, regaining certain muscles. For example, the nurses sit him up and he can hold the seated position on his own for 1-2 minutes, and can sway his body left and right. He could only hold the position for 8 seconds

Anticoagulants described as blood thinners
I am not sure if it is just me being intolerant or if BobD has brainwashed me. Every time I hear the expression āblood thinnersā on the television when someone describes anticoagulation I find myself shouting at an inanimate object I.E. the screen in the corner of the room. Last night whilst watching

Last line of treatment(most likely)
Iāve just been told that, most likely, Etoposide (part of the Van der Berg regimen) will be my last line of treatment. My head is spinning out of desperation. Iām in UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre and thinking of getting second opinion. But how? And is it worth? Iām from Lithuania. My parents are there

Hydroxychloroquine & Hydroxyurea for Covid and & ET
I am a teacher with ET, and have been on hydroxyurea (HU) for about 18 months. Feeling pretty good. Will be teaching online for at least a few months, but will eventually be going back into the classroom. Thinking about taking hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure for catching Covid from students

Drugs and ptsd
So a āfriendā of mine told me that it is his opinion that drugs will not cure ptsd, guilt, trauma, etc. I had mentioned to him that I am willing to risk addiction to benzos as my life is truly unmanageable now. He looked at me as if I was nuts...I do not blame him but I wanted to say, āwalk a mile

How common is depression in PD?
Just today this came to my mailbox: Background: Fatigue is the most common symptom of MS and has no effective pharmacotherapy. Since both are brain diseases, PD and MS have similar signs. I was first diagnosed with PD because an MRI showed white spots in the brain. Similar to the alpha

Change of blood thinner...
Hi, I'm feeling a little apprehensive! Yesterday I said goodbye to Warfarin and because my blood was too thin to start Apixaban right away, I've to wait until tomorrow morning before I can take another blood thinner, so hoping a couple of days without a blood thinner will not be a problem? Checking

Some words of encouragement
Hi everyone, I've been dealing with some bad anxiety as of late. It's not the first time, I've had it a lot the past few years but it's been controllable. Anyway as I said it's been bad recently and I've been having irrational fears of death and just been dizzy and spaced out a lot. A lot of this is

Things to Buy when Rehab is Over?
Happily, my father is out of intensive care and progressing well enough to go to acute rehab. We feel very blessed and Iām very grateful to have found this site- it was extremely helpful when we were going through the worst of it. Obviously we will communicate with the professionals and do as they recommend

Help! Switching milk feeds from baby bottle to sippy cup....
Looking for some help please. My son is 1 and I know by now I need to stop using normal baby bottles for his milk. I'm having real trouble though as every single other thing I've tried he's just thrown a massive tantrum at, spat the milk out, aggressively pushed the bottles away, thrown them around and

Lower leg pain
Hi I graduated about a month ago and have run(slowly) for 30 minutes 3 times a week since. Although my speed has not changed significantly, I do feel my breathing and heart rate are improving. However, on the last 2 or 3 runs I have come close to stopping as my lower legs really hurt. I have managed
