MF and platelet transfusions
Hi there, I’ve been reading posts on this forum for a little while but am posting for the first time. My father, who is in his late 70s, was diagnosed with MF a couple years ago (after 15 years or so with PV). He has been on Rux for a couple years and it has had a wonderful effect at suppressing symptoms

ADT and growth of breasts
I was not a victim of breast enlargement during my first injection of Lupron or while on Casodex but I do not know if it is any indication that my breasts won't grow once I start ADT again in a few weeks. Did any of you experience growing breasts while under ADT? If yes, did they go away after treatment

Period light but clots
Does anyone else get this? I am on desogestrel, which has made my periods MUCH lighter. However, I still get quite a bit of pain, and the first few days of my period I am passing only clots (not really any "liquid blood"). Do you know why this might be? I have stage 4 endo and adeno, as well as an endometrioma

Surgery
Hi guys & dolls Can I just ask if any of you have had surgery whilst on Warfarin. I need to have a breast operation and the surgeon is a bit “twitchy” about doing it ( his exact words) I have said why can’t they just bridge with the injections but I get the feeling he is trying to avoid it all together

Deep vein thrombosis look-alike?
Hi all, went to emerg on doc’s advice for ankle swelling in left leg and shin and calf pain, discoloration around ankle. Got ultrasound, xrays and bloodwork done, all clear. What cd it be? Doc is going to test for gout but pain isn’t that intense. Any ideas as to what’s up? Baffled.

Ulcerative colitis flares
Just asking a question regarding my wife's flare. She's on octasa 6x800mg a day and at the moment also as a enama at night. She's had UC for about 3 years , had the occasional blip but nothing like what she's going through now. The pain, the wind the stomach cramps are leaving her severely distressed

Stage IV, Taxol, thrombosis and COC protocol
Hi all, just new to this group! My mum is stage IV ovarian cancer, platinum resistant. She has pleural effusion and peritoneal carcinosis. She is now undergoing third line of chemo (Taxol) but things don't look good. Have any of you combined Taxol with the COC protocol (metformin, atorvastatin, mebendazol

Several variables and unknowns~
Almost 4 weeks ago, my rheumatologist started me back on Actemra weekly. I felt better without it, but he feels I need it as we will start tapering down from 12mg prednisolone, which I'm sure my body will appreciate (I hope). The same week I started the Actemra, my GP had also had me try just 20 mg

Lupron vs Trelstar
Hello all. Been on Lupron for a year. Switched Docs, he switched me to Trelstar. And comments on which is better? Any complications from switching? My PSA has been undetectable for a year.

Stage 4 central mediastinal mass
After a lobectomy 3 years ago, I now have a stage 4 central mediastinal mass. No reoccurrence in the lung or spread to other organs. I have been told that only palliative treatment is possible and offered (covid permitting) chemotherapy with immunotherapy. Has anyone experience of this cancer?

What defines ‘Extremely Vulnerable’ for MPN?
Is everyone with an MPN classified as Extremely Vulnerable? I’m EV but assumed because I have very low Lymphocytes/T cells on top of PV. The risks with Covid are viral pneumonia as a result of weakened immune system (I assume this is why the old more vulnerable?) and the dreaded Cytokine Storm inflammatory

End of the line with treatment?
Hi all, My son has had constipation issues since he was 6 months old and is about to turn 10. It also became apparent that he has bladder issues since about the age of 4 or 5 as well. We are at a reasonably good place with the constipation largely under control with a good routine, diet, water and probiotics

My 29 yr old son really agitated 3 weeks after sedation being reduced
My son has been in icu since 6/12/2020 he came out of a window slipped no more than 10ft high. Sustained severe injuries to his body but no head injury. Was put into an induced coma for a week he now is off life support but has been heavily sedated and they have been reducing his sedation for 3 weeks

extreme constipation?
so it’s been about 10 days since I’ve had a bowel movement. I’ve taken 10 stool softeners today, three prune lax, A cup of senna tea and one Ex-Lax. i’m getting urges to go but I literally can’t push it out. It’s like a sharp pain and I can’t sit up or walk. It hurts so much. Am I going to be OK? Will

Covid-19 injection
Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience of someone that is taking warfarin and the injection.? I have read on the government advice that people taking warfarin should have an intramuscular vaccine. A nurse friend of mine confirmed the reasoning for this but I am also aware of someone not

Our rainbow baby!
After lots of anxious months, our lockdown rainbow baby was born in May this year ❤️ After our MMC 3 years ago, we were nervous to get pregnant again, but it was 100% worth all of the worry. There’s always hope 🌈
