Antihistamines dry out your system so quite good for diarrhoea but unfortunately the next day you can then have a problem as it has hardened off a bit too much, if you get my drift! Or that's what I find. I am allergic to insect bites so as soon as I am bitten I have to take antihistamines.

I'm wondering about how histamine might be influencing my symptoms too. I was taking them in the summer for hayfever but my symptoms overall were much better. I suggest taking a look at histamineintolerance.org.uk who have dietary suggestions for lowering histamines in your system which might give longer term benefits (& be cheaper). Can't give you any info from direct experience though. I'm on a low FODMAP diet just now so I'm not experimenting with low-histamine foods at the same time.

Good luck!

HiMost of the hihh hysyemine foods are excluded from fodmap diet.i found i was much better in spring n summer. January always seem to my worst months.sunshine n gardening n exercise more in summer and eat less sugary foods.

My ibs pain is rh groin area which has also an area of tendon inflammation.iv had steroid injections for that.sometimes its hard to know if its groin inflammation triggering ibs or vice versa.

Stress makes it worse for sure.

Iv tried deep relaxation breathing it can help sometimes .its colon spasm my problem.

Bloating n diarrhoea much less so.

I think acidophlyuss tablets have helped

Amytriptyline can help but takes awhile to get over the sleepy affect of them.

I take mybentol for spasm pain paracetmol n if

Severe codeine or tramadol.

Hope something iv mentioned helps any ibs sufferers.

I believe in God and often when people pray for me i am so much better.

Graham
