new diagnosis advice on blood thinners please
I had my diagnosis only 4 days ago after an echocardiogram. I was prescribed Apixaban 5mg twice a day which are making me feel incredibly ill so I haven’t taken today’s dose. I intend to ring my surgery Monday morning to ask if there’s another medication blood thinner I could take instead with less

ACTEMRA dose with prednisone
I was approved yesterday to start an infusion of ACTEMRA. The Rheumy is starting me on 500 mg. How much will this reduce my prednisone? I have suspected GCA with PMR. I have a trip planned in August to Ireland but will not be back by my infusion date. What will happen? Will I have to take more prednisone

Recent diagnosis for PSP
My mum has recently been diagnosed with PSP and we are awaiting a meeting with the neurosurgeon and occupational health. One month post AV node ablation
It is almost a month since my AV node ablation and the swelling and shortness of breath have subsided. My pacemaker is currently set to rate response with a range of 80-130. I recently started riding my bike again taking it slow for now until I build my stamina back up. I am feeling much better and except

Is there a link between Avascular Necrosis and Hypothyroidism?
Hi everyone I have had left hip pain since May which has gradually worsened and had X-rays a couple of months ago. My consultant could not find much evidence of arthritic hip and sent me for an MRI scan. I saw him last week for the results and he said there was clear evidence of Avascular Necrosis

Blood Test Results - TPA seem strange
Hi, I have just received my Medichecks results. The result for TPA is 9 The range is <34 I know this fluctuates but was surprised to see it under range. My doctor checked it in 2007 and it was 56. It has not been checked since. So, do I still have Hashimotos? Does it fluctuate so much? I have

Hydrea
Having been a participant of this forum for a while, I am so appreciative for the knowledgeable information it provides. I am in my 70' s and was wondering if anyone else was taking Hydrea every other day with a daily low dose aspirin. If yes, how long?... any side effects? At the urging of my Haemo

Anticoagulants 7 years after successful ablation?
I had a surprise phone call from my GP surgery today. They are offering me blood thinners, 7 years after an ablation….apparently my chadsvasc score is 2. Has anyone else had this offer? Am quite horrified really and have no intentions of taking anticoagulants after all this time, but it’s got me a bit

Can you have PTSD from someone cheating?
My boyfriend is cheating on. Or at least he has in the past. I don't know if he still is and it's eating me alive. I should have left to begin with but didn't. I had his phone last night. My mind was telling me to look through it. But my hands and body just started shaking so hard. My stomach dropped
