Hi all ive not been on for a bit but I wanted to keep ya updated..yesterday I had another MRI scan on spine n cervical area which isnt what im pushing for but im another scan nearer to Neurology. What I can remember the spine specialist said the past injury and surgery on my lower back wouldn't cause the permanent foot drop I have and no balance on my left he said he would check for compression of the spinal cord first before the referral to Neurology..in laymans terms none of my historic injuries are caused by my back or lower leg. I told him the answers lie higher up behind the old skull fracture I have no memory of getting...I now have an appointment for physio for my leg which wont make a blind bit of difference to how my left side struggles everyday...I am going to show the physio everything and blow their mind too with all this..I will not give up the fight to get to see NEUROLOGY 👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪❤️

Hi S.. At least now you're in the system there'll be more referrals and investigations. I guess your orthopaedic surgeon needs to rule out anything within his remit whether related to your foot drop or not.
I'd put money on yours being the correct diagnosis, but a truly dedicated physician will always want to check for issues in their own particular field of expertise. Enjoy the physio anyway !😬
Hope you get a neuro referral asap.... x
Thankyou cat3 as always..ive found the best way to manage all this is to take my time this untold story of mine is an amazing one as I survived a road accident that should of killed me..im not at NEUROLOGY yet but I know the answers to it all lie with my brain injury..ive been going down rabbit holes trying to find the right road n I feel only now im starting to get somewhere...my journey continues👍❤️x
I had a TBI in 2016 and I also have spinal cord compression in my neck, all of my symptoms were associated with my brain injury but last year I was diagnosed with cervical myelopathy which was caused when I had my TBI but my cervical spine wasn't scanned when I had my TBI so I have been living with cord compression for 5 years without knowing it. Spinal cord compression in the neck can mimic so many different neurological conditions from multiple sclerosis through to parkinsons disease and people are often misdiagnosed because of it. So it's good that they are checking for it first. I sincerely hope that you haven't got it because it's hell to live with. I hope you finally get the answers that you are looking for .
Thankyou for your comment n firstly im sorry to read about your own struggles. My road accident was back in 1983 I was 10 years old when there wasnt any scans or owt available I remember my leg recovery but nothing was ever said to me about brain Injury once the clot in my forehead had exited via my nose..I spent a lifetime trying to ignore and hide my disabilities I was left with..all these years later ive had to give up my career and everything else due to injuries I dont remember getting..im 5 years down a road of acceptance n understanding thus thing..I will go to any scan they put in front of me as ive never had any until now...I hope ive stayed on track with my reply as I get lost as im typing...thanks again👍👍
