Has anyone here discovered they have endometriosis/and or adenomyosis at a later stage in life? Just found out at 50!
Right now I am sad and very angry. I have been under my local gynae and gastroenterology departments for over 20 years. That’s 20+ years of endless gastro tests for my ongoing digestive issues (I’ve had 2 colonoscopies, 2 gastroscopes, blood tests, fit tests, a scan for bile acid malabsorption). During

Failed Endometrial Ablation: Prostap
Hi folks, Here goes, I had an ablation done but I’ve never had endometriosis - long story - it’s failed and I’m due to have the Prostap injection. I’m worried about weight gain a developing hashimoto’s, I’m paralysed and osteoporosis is also a worry. I’m very high risk for hysterectomy surgery, so

Could it be MS?
For the last 11 months, I have been experiencing numbness and tingling in both feet. I have noticed when its cold I feel worse. I also have numbness, tingling and weakness on my left side in my hand and lower arm. I had a MRI in April 2023 with no contrast; both came back normal. My symptoms have

Whats the chances
Whats the chances of falling pregnant with endometriosis, adenomyosis and pcos? I can't stop thinking about it I've googled and there's nothing on it. I was thinking of doing one of those fertility tests but would it be accurate as I'm in medically induced menopause atm? I just want some clarity and

Experiences of using HRT after oophorectomy+ hysterectomy
Hello, Would anyone mind sharing their experiences of using HRT after oophorectomy+ hysterectomy? I'm wondering whether to persevere with trying to find something better, or just give up entirely. Thanks 🙂 (I had my op years ago. Took over 2 years to get past the meno symptoms (no HRT). Thought

thoughts on result update
I posted my daughters pre hysterectomy bloods in September and had some excellent advice. She has redone the blood tests and I still think the thyroid test results are strange. She has been on iron for 8 weeks. The first results are for September. And the second for

pros and con of a hysterectomy
hi all I’ve been told I’m going to be put on the waiting list. It could be years before I get one for a hysterectomy. I want to know the pros and cons in your opinion was it worth it for those I’ve had one personally, I am desperate for one week as I’ve had enough of the ProStap injections I desperately

Anyone else had both ovaries out?
Hey all, so due to Endo and PMDD I had a hysterectomy on 1st August. Last minute paranoia meant I decided to keep an ovary. My PMDD has returned and I’ve been getting pains in my lonesome ovary. Really struggling if I’m honest and have gyne next week. I know they are going to offer to take the other

Update after hysterectomy for adenomyosis
I posted here just over a week ago with the background and my pre-operative anxieties: https://healthunlocked.com/endometriosis-uk/posts/150262788/adenomyosis-should-i-have-hysterectomy so I thought I'd update. When I went in to hospital I was still quite ambivalent and fearful. But when I talked to

Ovaries or no Ovaries
I'm 46 next week and have recently been diagnosed with a large fibroid approx 15cm x 10cm and also an ovarian cyst. Consultant has recommended an hysterectomy as I'm also having severe bleeding during my period and am very anaemic. Hysterectomy is also being recommended as my mother had breast cancer

You Are All Amazing
Ladies, I came to read some of your stories, being new to the forum and you are all are amazing and brave.I am 49 and at a regular annual check a week ago on a transvaginal ultrasound the doctor saw three large masses near my left ovary in addition to pretty heavy endometriosis. My right ovary was removed

Why all of a sudden Endo?
I am aware on here that many people have experienced problems for many years, since puberty. I have what is suspected to be Endometriosis, but I haven't had any problems until the past 2 and a half years. Is this unusual? I know it takes a long time to get a correct diagnosis. I am waiting for a

Seromucinous borderline ovarian tumour
Following my laparotomy surgery last month (
total
hysterectomy
, oophorectomy, appendectomy and omentum biopsy) I got the all clear. My frozen section and final pathology were both seromucinous borderline ovarian tumour stage 1a. Thank goodness for our fabulous NHS.

Good News
It seems unfair to share my good news as I know many on this site are unsure how there diagnosis will go, as I was too at the beginning of my journey. But it is also good to read how many have good results. I was diagnosed with stage 3 Ovarian cancer over two years ago now. I had a hysterectomy, six

Deep Infilrative Endometriosis - Recommended Hysterectomy. Age 35.
Hi All, I have been to see a specialist at Endometriosis Centre in Birmingham. He has done an MRI where he can see Endometriosis around my csection scar, my pelvis, back, on bladder and bowel. He's consulting with MDT re bowel and bladder to check it has not infiltrating into there. He has recommended
