Here goes, I had an ablation done but I’ve never had endometriosis - long story - it’s failed and I’m due to have the Prostap injection. I’m worried about weight gain a developing hashimoto’s, I’m paralysed and osteoporosis is also a worry. I’m very high risk for hysterectomy surgery, so I’ve agreed to try this first but I’m not prepared physically or mentally for artificial menopause because I’m not symptomatic of perimenopause. Are there any dos or don’ts I can do to minimise chances of side effects? How did you cope suddenly being thrust into menopause - are the side effects of menopause immediate?
I’ve had very little advice and no counselling from my physician - just a phone call.
TIA

Hi, please make sure that they give you add back HRT to counteract the side effects of menopause. Ask for it and make sure you get it to start straight away. Too many women are put on this and told to see if they have any side effects first. Dint wait to feel awful. Ask for it. I start next Friday on zoladex.
Thank you for your advice, HRT is one thing I'm sure to start straight off the bat with it. I made sure it's part of the treatment plan. Wishing you the best of luck with the treatment for your issues. I wouldn't mind but I've never had endometriosis, I feel for all of the ladies that are suffering.
I must have missed this, how long into the journey are you? I've found my uterine pain exacerbated, I'm unsure if it's the Prostap or the HRT (although, I ripped my patch off yesterday after getting terrible cramps).
Now I've ballooned massively. Someone on another group site said that the injection sends the ovaries into overdrive before switching them off BUT what if, in doing so, it makes thickening of the uterine wall thus making ablation failure syndrome worse?! Is that what you have PATSS?
