TKR post op review
I’ve just about calmed down enough to share this experience now. Last week was my six week post op check appointment. It was a half hour journey but roadworks made it an hour. I rang ahead to explain but when we arrived the consultant was shouting out my name. I told him I needed the loo first and turned

Min invasive Aortic valve replacement:- happy or disappointed?
I’m 67 yo, male, slightly overweight but otherwise good health but I have a severe Aortic Stenosis, that’s running at about 25% of full capacity. My only symptoms are slight breathlessness when climbing stairs. Saw a surgeon yesterday who wants to replace the valve with an animal valve, but he does not

Advice Please
Hi everyone. I have had 16 gynaecological operations starting at aged 13 and ending 23 years ago a day before my 40th birthday when I had an emergency hysterectomy where for some reason they left my cervix. Following my op they tried HRT but my BP shot up so I was taken off it. Urinary incontinence

hi - when I went first to my Rheumatology dept 4.5 years ago - I had a X-ray on my knee as I’d had a lot of pain and swelling there. I’d tripped up at work. No evidence of any damage was seen. over the intermittent years including lockdown I ve had worsening swelling and more present pain. More drugs

prostrap injections
Hi All, thank you for the add- I am new here. I have ademomyosis, fibroids and also possibly endometriosis. I am listed for a total hysterectomy but start (thursday!) prostrap injections to see how I would cope with no ovaries (with add back HRT) and to check the effect on my terrible ovulation symptoms

Follow up to my last post re SDR
It's now almost 4 weeks since Mark's knee replacement. He's doing well after a small setback at the weekend. He saw our Dr a week ago to ask if he could drive. Dr told him to ask the physio. She tested him on a step, checking the force he could use on his knee and gave permission for him to drive

diagnosis process
hey all, I posted last week regarding my mum who was awaiting her results. They had MDT on Thursday and called her straight in for 08:30am Friday to see gynae/onc consultant for results. They didn’t mention anywhere else on her CT other than what we already knew about the ovary so we are assuming

Gabapentine
I have had RLS for many years. I am 85 years of age. My doctor prescribed Amitryptiline 10 mgs last year but I found that after a while it had no effect whatsoever. My doctor has now prescribed Gabapentine but on reading the leaflet with the package it has so many side effects that I 'm afraid to use

Probably more of a rant than asking for help, this is my first post. Recently I replied to a question by someone to have an ablation first or a hip replacement, my choice was to have my hip replaced first that has been taken out of my hands. As in the title they have found a new way to reduce the waiting
