Off down for my triple CABG early tomorrow morning. Wish me luck. I've been lurking in the background on here for several months. Have found the forum very useful and informative so thanks to those taking part. See you all in the recovery suite.

I'd appreciate some advice
Tired all the time, really really tired. Cholesterol. My diet is excellent, rich in green leafy veg. Don't drink alcohol, don't smoke. BP now 125/80 while my norm for decades has been 100/60. Unable to lose weight unless I drop calories to below 600 per day, which means literally starving. After no joy

Angiogram and next chapter of my cardiac rollercoaster to come
Hello my fellow hearties, I haven't posted on this forum for quite some time, since I was first diagnosed aged 48 with CAD in Oct 2017 and was terried. I drew then, and still draw on now, massive comfort from how kind eveyone here is in sharing their worries, experiences, thoughts and kindnesses

Sternotomy discomfort / anxiety
I am now coming up to 2 years post CABG and still getting mild non specific discomfort in my chest. I am regularly walking 10+ miles without any issues. My twinges can come when I am sat down. I can walk up 8 flights of stairs with minimal breathlessness. Doctors assure me that my discomfort is unlikely

Cabg harvest sites
Hi community I'm new here and am after some general advice. I am 16 weeks post op from a quintrupel heart bypass. The vein harvest sites are my forearm and lower leg, I was advised by the surgical team that after 12 weeks these sites should be back to normal, but I am still experiencing lack of power

Caught a cold after AVR and CABG 4 weeks ago
My husband has caught a cold after his surgery 4 weeks ago, or we think it is a cold - really cold and can’t warm up, exhausted and in bed, runny nose and off his food. Is there anything I need to keep an eye on or just let it run it’s course?

Bio-oil skin use
I'm three weeks post 4x CABG and the leg where the vein was taken is still bruised and swollen, but the wounds are healing well. The skin on my leg is so dry and flaking and uncomfortable. I've been given some Bio-oil and told it will improve the dryness and reduce scarring. Has anyone else used this

Living Alone after Heart Bypass
Hi everyone, I am Rob and looking for a little advice! My Father in Law is 68 and is 3 weeks post CABG x5 and staying with us at the moment, we live approx an hour away from him. He was in a lot of pain but was recently prescribed co-codamol which is managing the pain fairly well. He isn’t doing much

Frustrated with results ... getting a 2nd opinion from a different Endo ... what do you all think?
So I have an extensive family history of thyroid issues... I have been having symptoms for years... they are continuing and at times are worse main ones are exhaustion, always cold, hair falling out in pieces, inability to loose weight, full ache in (what I believe to be lymph nodes) armpits, neck, chin

Dent in Skin Graft on Nose
Hi, Can anyone suggest any camouflage ideas as I had MOHS/Plastic surgery on my poor nose for skin cancer and now can see a huge dent! I know that I have to wait a year to see if the plastic surgeon can amend/add fillers, but, in the meantime would love to hide it as best I can (it's in the worse place

All Fired Up
Hi I have been watching the BBC Race Across the World from London to Singapore without using Air Transport. This has fired me up to consult Maps of Europe and to see where we can travel without Planes. So looking at Ferry to France ( we live near to Poole ) then drive through France to Holland heading

TPA negative and hyperthyroidism
I have been suffering ftom hyperthyroidism for a year - diagnosed as Graves. My results were getting better but my latest blood tests show that my free TS3 and TS4 levels are still a bit high but my Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies results are showing as negative; there are -15. Consultant has said this

Hi everyone As many others here I am on a bit of a journey with my dicky ticker.
