Vitamin K2 and calcuim scores.
I am 75 years old, have always been fairly fit and had a good diet. A few months a go I learned that I had a calcium score of 1800 or so. I have now had a cabg. I have read many articles and watched several videos that declare that Vitamin K 2 can reduce calcium scores. What is the BHF view of this

Stent or CABG option
I cant figure this out. I had a stent fitted a month ago and have disease in three vessels. Someone i was talking to at rehab had similar disease and was offered either a stent or CABG. They went for CABG as the Dr said best option. It got me wondering - were they offered CABG as they had worse disease

What do latest blood results mean?
Please could someone help me interpret my latest results? At the beginning of the year my GP reduced my Levo from 150 to 125 as she said I was over medicated. I did as I was told for 3 and a half months and at the end of that period was pretty unwell with fatigue, aching limbs, hair thinning, my fingernails

Post July 4th Hangover...then waiting for a long week to end lol
Hey everyone! Brian here! Sorry I've been missing in action the last 7 to 10 days, but I've been doing a lot of travelling back and forth to doctor's visits. Living in a rural area is nice and all, but that also means nothing is close by. lol I have to make a 3 hour round trip to the main hospital

Smiling at adversity through gritted teeth
Hi my fellow hearties, hope you’re all coping ok with the heat. Now that I’ve calmed down somewhat I’ll just share my week with you all. It’s been a mixed bag for sure. As I’ve previously posted, I have a moderate to severe leaky mitral valve, heart failure with an EF of 38%, and ischemic heart disease

Hereditary?
I had a a 4 x CABG in May. At the time my doc said my condition was probably 'hereditary' as no prior high BP or high cholesterol etc and my Dad also had a bypass at age 55. The report the surgeon gave me post op stated he found 'diffuse disease' and 3 arteries were occluded. Does anyone know if this

Scars
Hi all hope you are enjoying your Friday. Has any one had any one had any experience with Hypertropic scars? I think my arm where they tried to harvest arteries for my CABG is going that way, although no arteries were used. Thanks in advance x

How to reduce Calcium Score ??
I was given a CAT scan that was cut short with the message "Cannot continue with Calcium Score of 1829"! . After other scans I was given a CABG. I am unaware of how a CABG reduces the Calcium Score of the gunge in the unchanged arteries. I am 75 and have always been fit and active and had a good diet

Joint Group Meeting at House of Commons with Lord Hunt
Very good meeting at the House of Commons yesterday with Thyroid Trust, ITT, Midlands Thyroid Support, Norfolk Thyroid Group, TPA, BTF and BTA. It was agreed that we would all work on a document with evidence for Lord O'Shaughnessy regarding CCGs not adhering to NHS England guidance on liothyronine.

Sleeping/sleep position post cabg
Hi all, l am now about a week and a half post op, double CABG. Everything seems to be moving along ok, I’m doing my exercises, getting a bit stronger by the day, the op seems like ages ago already. One thing I’m struggling with is sleep. Not so much getting to sleep, but trying to sleep on my back when

Mycobacterium Chimaera
Hi, I’m Steve, I had a valve repair and CABG in 2015, I’ve since received notification of a risk of infection, Mycobacterium Chimaera, felt really good for the first two years but now have some symptoms of the above, undergoing tests at the moment, has anybody else come across this?

Scaphoidectomy with 4 corner fusion (cause Priesers Disease)
Almost 7 years ago I had my scophoid removed and a 4 corner fusion using a bone graft from my iliac crest. I was told it would last 10 yes but since I was so young it might not last that long ( I was 31 yes old at the time of surgery). I think it is starting to fail, I'm having pain again in my wrist

Melanoma survivor....safe to have kids?
I had metastatic malignant melanoma in 2008. I had a skin graft and wide excision to remove my lymph nodes in my groin. Since then all PET scans have been clear, but I am wondering if it is safe to get pregnant? Anyone gone through this before? So far, no one has been able to help me. I am desperate

Strong emotions causing HA?
Recently I had a HA 30 minutes after seeing my favourite football team lose a very important game. I had to have emergency CABG 1 week later as 3 of my arteries were found to be blocked after angiogram. My question is this: How can strong emotions be connected with my arteries being clogged up? To

Updates - there's always something more...
Well, it seems that I am not doing bad for someone who, before June 2018, had never stayed in hospital. If an NSTEMI wasn't enough on June 4th, I was admitted to A&E on Wednesday with dizziness, weakness, breathlessness, tachycardia and atrial fibrillation. Turns out that I have now been diagnosed with
