Hi, Can anyone suggest any camouflage ideas as I had MOHS/Plastic surgery on my poor nose for skin cancer and now can see a huge dent! I know that I have to wait a year to see if the plastic surgeon can amend/add fillers, but, in the meantime would love to hide it as best I can (it's in the worse place, as everyone can see it!).
Any suggestions for topical fillers/silicone/prosthetic covers would be brilliant x

Hi lp04. Welcome to the Changing Faces community! Thank you for your post. Changing Faces offers a Skin Camouflage Service though I am not sure it would be helpful with a dent. If you are based in Scotland or England and would like to explore if this is an option for you, check out changingfaces.org.uk/skin-c.... They have skilled practitioners who can colour-match your skin, as well as show you how to apply products yourself. Hopefully other members of the community will offer other options you can consider as well. Have you tried anything you would be happy to share with others? Do let us know how you get on.
Thank you. What I have done is a self referral for skin camouflage advice (as I understand the waiting time is 1 to 2 months, I thought I'd refer whilst the skin is healing). I've looked at dermaflage products (as they look interesting). I have to wait 6 months before I see the surgeon again, and it's a long time facing the world in the meantime!
I promise to post what I've done as a result, as if it is good, it will help others in the same situation.
To be honest, I'm a professional make-up artist with 10 years experience and have just completed training with Changing Faces as a skin camouflage practitioner. While waiting times suggest it can be 1-2 months, some are seeing much sooner depending on area and waiting lists. So you may be see sooner. I wouldn't advise using any products until you have seen a skin camouflage practitioner. The reason I say this is, your skin is still healing and you don't want to disturb it while it's in the healing process.
As a qualified make-up artist, I'm trained in health and safety. When training with Changing faces they include health and safety training too, including contraindications. So practitioners are trained to notice during a consultation, if for any reason we can't use the products on the client. We are also trained to colour match and which products are most suitable. Several clients have told me that they have spent a fortune trying to find the right products to help them so you could end up paying out for unsuitable products.
My advice really is just to wait to be seen by someone trained to help you. Once your skin has healed and you have been colour matched and shown how to use the products, you will be well away. Hope this helps
