Post CABG recovery
I had a triple CABG back in September 2018 and have completed Cardio Rehab, HeartSmart referral programme, followed on to gym membership, play football once a week and go off road biking with my kids on a regular basis. I have changed my diet to eat more healthily and take aspirin, atorvastatin and small

First CABG
I’m seeing conflicting information about the history of CABG. Really all I want know I guess is how old a procedure is it. Seems like it can’t bd attributed to the work of 1 surgeon.

Can a CABG fail?
Hi, about 20 months ago I had a 4x CABG following a heart attack and stents that my body rejected. Life was good. 8 weeks later I was doing DIY and my energy levels were up and high. Around Christmas I started to get chest pains frequently and exercising got a lot harder. Walking up 2 flights of steps

Update in results for first Endocrinology Appointment tomorrow
Hello Very Helpful Souls, So, I have my first Endocrinology appointment in the morning and have just got back the updated results. The Consultant (V respected in his field at well renowned hospital) requested vit D and T3 both were declined by my local hospital as not enough supporting documentation

Latest results - advice needed
Instead of getting clearer about my results, I get more confused! Advice would be very welcome to help me understand what is going on.. I hadn't expected to be advised to reduce my Thyroxine as I am still pretty tired and struggle with my weight and serious hair loss! The test I have attached is from

Urine iodine test results
Ive just received my Iodine (Urine) test result from Genova via Thyroid UK and the result is 91 mcg/l (Range 100-199), hence classed as "Slight Deficit". Any views on way forward e.g. should I maintain or increase my iodine supplementation (below)? Note: 1. Ive not been diagnosed with thyroid disease

Hot Weather and CABG

Sad news - Sheila Turner
It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Sheila Turner, founder of Thyroid Patient Advocacy (TPA), has died at the age of 81. Sheila founded TPA in order to help patients who did not resolve all of their symptoms on levothyroxine. She was a great advocate for NDT for thyroid patients

How can I raise my T4 levels?
Okay my doctor did bloodwork over a year ago and the TSH came back at 2.676 range 0.550-4.780 T4 - 2.6 range 4.5-10.9. So she tried to put me on Levo that made me feel like crap. So i researched and said I wanted NDT. So I am taking NP Thyroid now 60mg. I felt that wasn't doing enough so I added Thyriod

I had a CABG x 2 in August. After my 8 week checkup I was discharged by the cardiologist, (he is based 60 miles away).Should I now be under the care of the cardiology department at my local hospital or just my GP? Thanks

Partner emotions
Seems a long time ago but in reality my heart problem only became known to me when it was diagnosed first week in April. 2 months ago. I guess I’ve been pretty self absorbed, if that’s the right way of putting it, since then. Feelings of isolation waiting for CABG; frustration at “frail old man” feelings

Tiredness
Since I've been hit by a coronary problem just over 2 months ago I've progressively felt more tired as each day passes. Is this usual? Can I expect this to improve after the scheduled CABG surgery?

Back home now
Came home this afternoon 6 days post CABG having had three grafts. Pain killers doing their stuff. I'm trying to do mine, all the physio and excercises. Taking things easy and letting it build up. So many people to thank, including those on here that offered help and advice

LCHF 4 yrs
LCHF. Well that was pre April 2019. CABGx4. What now ? What does the research say about LCHF and risk of further occlusion or Afib or heart attack after and attack and CABG ? At least one definitive source from the Keto/LCHF world says my questions outpace the science. If you know anything do please

Pre-op tests validity
I'm on a waiting list for Mitral Valve repair/replacement and also a Triple Heart Bypass ( CABG ). I had all of my pre-op tests done on 2nd April. I was told waiting time would be 6/8 weeks. As the 8 weeks has now passed does anyone know how long the pre-op tests are valid for? Thanks in advance for
