high antibodies, normal range but starting medication.
I’ve been monitoring my levels this year and after private tests showed both my antibodies were sky high I’ve gone back to the doctors and they’ve eventually tested for tpo antibodies which again were really high. TSH and free thyroxine are still within normal range apparently but I’ve been feeling awful

First appointment with a thyroid specialist. Any advice?
I recently had a blood test as my HRT meds haven't been addressing most of the symptoms I first presented with. To be honest I suspect perimenopause was the easy go to because of my age. The results showed a TPO antibody level of 1137 but my thyroid hormones are within normal range so I have been

hi everyone . Here’s my story so far .. haven’t been ‘right’ since May 2021 . First symptoms were hair loss and tiredness. I contacted the GP who did my bloods and said my thyroid was slightly low and wanted to recheck in 8 weeks T4 = 10.4 and TSH 0-8 So they rechecked in july 22 and said again

Headaches and nightmares on T3 monotherapy
Hi, does anyone else get headaches and nightmares on T3 monotherapy? I have read the side effects leaflet and it states that 'headache' and 'insomnia' are two of the side effects; since I have been on T3 only I often wake up in the night and have a very light sleep compared to what I am used to, then

Antibodies actually lowered
My GP retested TPO for an endocrinologist referral, not sure why that mattered. I am surprised by how much they have lowered since September 2023. I know it makes jo difference to my health but I thought they'd not budge much. Range 0-5.9 September 2023: greater than 1000, no precise number. August

Anyone with Graves disease have high gastric parietal cell antibodies?
Hi. I just had a lab done and found out I am positive for gastric parietal cell antibodies 26 where over 25 is considered positive. I read that it can be from pernicious anemia (my levels were low but normal now), autoimmune gastritis (i did an endoscopy and have mild gastritis) or from thyroid disease

Vitamin and mineral deficiencies/Thyroid dysfunction.. Chicken or Egg?
Before I spend my hard earned money on going to a private ENDO because the NHS is failing me I wanted to ask what you all thought about the problem of iron deficiency and vitamin D deficiency and how this relates to underactive thyroid . I read a lot here about how these vitamins should be optimal for

Help with results and medication prescribed
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s a few months ago after some routine private bloods for peri-menopause issues. TPO antibodies result then was >1300. Was advised by private menopause clinic to see private thyroid clinic. Also went to GP who said he would just monitor with yearly bloods as TSH fine. But

Endo is recommending radioactive iodine
At my last endocrinology appointment, it was strongly suggested I have radioactive iodine therapy. I'm not terribly keen, for reasons that many of you here have pointed out. I still don't know for sure that I have Graves'. The endo didn't think it mattered if it was Graves' or not, she would still recommend

Initially I started levothyroxin that was horrendous at the time with awful adrenal causing a whole load of unpleasant symptoms, t3 thybon brand I have also tried without success. I started on NDT around 15 years ago but had to build up slowly over a few years as it caused wired & tired symptoms causing
