Sporadically fall backwards with no warning
3 weeks into new dose of 100 levothyroxine (on waking) + 2 doses of 7.5 t3 (one on waking and one at 3pm - [built up gradually]). Back to suddenly, out of nowhere just falling backwards and fatigue beyond all comprehension. This falling symptom only started after my 15 days off levothyroxine, nearly

Fibromyalgia or Hypothyroidism?
A friend has recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I have read a lot about that condition being diagnosed when the patient actually has hypothyroidism. Is there a way to rule out Hashi's? I know that an antibody test won't be conclusive unless they are high, because I (and many others) have

antidepressants and the thyroid
Is there any evidence that antidepressants affect the role of the thyroid (production/conversion of thyroxine etc)? Any information gratefully appreciated.

Solution to extremely high TPO Ab?
Hi, I previously posted my NHS and private blood results and still learning to find my solution to very high TPO (933). Just in my simple brain, if your antibodies are attacking the body, they attack good & bad and thus won’t absorb vitamins/nutrients/medication? I feel a bit overwhelmed for the best

Raised tpo
Any idea why when taking any dose of iodine along with protocol it send my tpo rising. Trying to figure this for some time now. Lots of people with hashimotos take iodine with no problem.

Please help - private blood test (1 + 2)
I’ve been and am quite unwell and thought it was T3 but recent private blood tests show something else? (Tested 24 hours between Levothyroxine). * TPO 933?? I’m not sure how to proceed to get back to functioning and feeling normal. Been taken all recommended supplements, but perhaps I’m not absorbing

Can Hashimoto's or Ord's disease cause high ALT levels?
I have hypothyroidism with high TPO antibodies. I used to think this was Hashimoto's, but I don't have a goitre so now believe it is called Ord's disease. I'm on 75mcg levothyroxine a day, and now I'm gluten-, dairy- and egg-free I feel in good health and have no debilitating tiredness. I'm about

Treatment Preferences in Patients with Hypothyroidism: an Analysis of Eleven Randomized Controlled Trials
I have only read this abstract - once, and very quickly - hence no real comments. But patients preferring combination treatment is hardly a surprise. We'd probably prefer our own nicely working thyroid - which would be producing T4 and T3. Wouldn't it? Treatment Preferences in Patients with Hypothyroidism

Melatonin and thyroid disease
I have hypothyroidism and Grave's disease the Graves' is currently in remission and I am on a T4 and T3 combo. I am currently on a good level of medication (for the first time since I became unwell about 10 years ago). I also have ADHD and for my entire life I have had huge problems falling asleep

Most people over 70 should consider taking statins, study finds
I want to emphasise right at the start, "The authors cautioned that this was an observational study, and as such, could not establish cause and effect." I suspect that there will have been a degree of self-selection out of the study - e.g. those who have ever had an adverse reaction to a statin

Anaemia
I have graves disease but GP only tests TSH levels and T3. When I saw GP due to rapid heartbeat, breathlessness and muscle weakness he did full blood test and said I was anaemic. I take 5mg of carbimazole- could this medication cause anaemia? Is this common in graves? I used to have thyroid blood tests

Elevated Diastolic Blood Pressure & Thyroid?
I’ve read that thyroid issues can increase diastolic blood pressure while systolic remains normal. I’ve been seeing a slight increase / trend with this. Has anyone else seen this and it meant levothyroxine increase needed?

bloodshot eye and Graves
I got this today out of the blue. Going to have it checked tomorrow. I wonder if this is to do with Graves/TED? I’m currently on 2.5mg carbimazole.
