I can see!.. Sort a...
This morning I had the cataract removed from my left eye. What an experience! I don't have much depth perception but I can already see better out of it & it's only been 8 hours. I was a little nervous about being awake during the procedure but with the tad bit of anesthesia I didn't care. I could see

Encouraging results from the CureParkinsons supported Phase II clinical trial of the GLP-1R agonist Liraglutide
There were 37 randomly assigned to Liraglutide & 18 on placebo (2:1); At 54 weeks, non-motor symptoms scale scores had improved by 6.6 points in the liraglutide group & worsened by 6.5 points in the placebo group; MDS-UPDRS III (change from baseline) = not significantly different Secondary outcome analysis

Headache after coming off prednisolone
I’m new here, apart from browsing and learning a lot, thank you. I am female age 67, in UK. I am asking humbly for your thoughts, realising that I am much better off than so many on this site to whom I can only offer my sympathy. Can anyone help me judge whether my current frequent headache may be

the new doctor has very different opinions about my eyes
I was dealt a blow today. I wonder my experience is unique. Unknown to me, my eye doctor had left the practice and a new doctor was assigned for me. - he didn't let me know or made sure someone take over, so I had to phone the clinic about my regular check up - anyway, at my first meeting with the

Eye test timing after injection
Ihave wet AMD in L eye and dry AMD in the R eye and of f- centre double vision. Following a new bleed I have to have an injection next Wednesday. I had an appointment booked for an eye test the following Thursday ie 8 days later. Does anyone know what time should elapse between the two?

Disc Hemorrhaging
Hello! I have had glaucoma for 4 years. I am currently taking 3 different kinds of eye drop and finally got my eye pressure down to 15. HOWEVER at yesterday's appointment my Dr. observed a disc hemorrhage. which is a sign of glaucoma progression. I am deeply worried. I will be having a trabeculectomy

Surgery for Macular Degeneration?
First time posting here. My father-in-law, 87 yrs, has dry MD. What kind of treatments are there? Injections, drops, surgery? He says there is surgery for Dry MG but doctors don't want to perform it. Can someone help us out and give us a list of treatments.

Foot Check.... 'A' OK.
Dear All, I haven't written on here much, even though I DO have Diabetes. However, yesterday I had a Foot Check. The lady named Christina is, in fact, a Regular Visitor to our Flats.... we had just 'missed' each other somehow. Apart from a 'bit' of Fungal Nail, that my Dermy knows all about, my feet

Has anyone else had issues with their eyes and has Hashimoto’s?
A Few months ago I woke up & both my eyes were swollen. They’d been watering for weeks previously. And I’ve been using drops for dry eyes. I’ve no idea what the issue was. Spoke to Drs and advised to take an antihistamine, which I’ve been doing now, for weeks, but issues still remain. It has taken

Crest and Sjorgrens.... I have such a dry mouth it is affecting my whole life ... Any advise would be appreciated .
Hi All I'm not sure why i'm asking or what i'm asking , but more recently My dry mouth is on a permanent flare up . Its takes ages to eat food as there is not enough saliva to break the food down, the trouble with always having water at hand is the relief is momentary as the dryness comes from deep inside

GP versus Eye Casualty
Hello. I woke up this morning and my eyes were red and puffy, sore, itchy, swollen and discharging. Contacted my GP (by econsult, as phone lines engaged for first 3 hours at least). Then my instinct told me to ring eye casualty. They called me in, and did a thorough job, diagnosing allergic conjunctivitis

Anyone with experience of Lamotrigine as a preventative?
My consultant has prescribed Lamotrigine as a preventative. I’m wary as I had terrible side effects with topimirate. Beta blockers do not have any effect. So I have to try a third preventative in order to be eligible for cgrp injections. I don’t want to go backwards in my daily life with the mood swings

Update; pred taper and back injecitons
First of all, the back injections work because now I'm back to pain and stints of short-term standing and then the walker. So, that is good news. Now, my back feels almost as bad as before but I am due for the second round of diagnostic injecitons on March 15th, analyze the pain diary and then hopefully

Practical Suggestions for PWP. Myopia
As the lucky chosen few to get pd it should be noted that a lot of us will suffer from vision issues as the rods and cones of the eye and other associated muscles succumb to dopamine depletion. One thing you can do is that as we become increasingly debilitated and spend alot of times indoors dont forget
