No Symptoms of diabetes, but taking Metformin
I have recently been told I am diabetic, but the only symptom I had was thrush twice. I have been taking Metformin for a week now. How do I tell if they are helping please? Is it just the blood test every 3 months that will tell me if they are working? Thank you.

If rising TSH causes total cholesterol, triglycerides and high density lipoprotein cholesterol all to rise, why is it OK for people to see their TSH allowed to reach 10.0 (or higher) before any treatment? As my hbA1c has gone up due to increased doses of Pred my GP is concerned I'm near Pre-diabetic levels. They have given me info on the NHS Healthier You programme and offered

Pre-diabetes and Diabetes prevention programs.
Hi everyone, Today I had to have an annual blood test at my GP's and I asked the nurse if they had many patients with pre-diabetes and she said they had so many they were running a program as were all health centres. As we have many members with pre-diabetes I think it's worth posting the NHS diabetes
