Hello, I am a Newbie to this group. Yesterday I got my recent blood test results and the news wasn't good my sugar levels were up and I have been classed as pre diabetic. I need to lose 3 stone and follow a healthy eating plan to hopefully lower these levels. I was wondering is there any specific eating plan that is best to follow to help lower my sugar levels?

Hello I am not an expert... I was diagnosed with an hbc1 test of 48/9 roughly. That was a few years ago... I lost some weight without trying by cutting out anything white .ie: potatoes, bread, rice and pasta.I was not on any medication.Within a year my hbc was down to 41..I also tried to walk and move around more.Nothing special or hard about it just a change of lifestyle.I still enjoy at least four portions of fruit daily and Greek yoghourt ,so I get my sweet tooth fix. A bit of what you fancy now and again, don’t be strict. Good luck ! You can do it.😄😄😄

Very encourading. I was recently diagnosed as being prediabetic (reading 45..) about 3 months ago. With great dietary advice received from Royds.org.uk, and ensuring I drink lots of water when I wake up and during the day ,I have been able to reduce my weight from about 82Kg to about 76Kg. Hmm, checking my BMI this morning with the NHS BMI Calculator tells me I still need to reduce weight becasue of my ethnicity (Black African)!! Is this a punishment? God help us!
