Couch to 5K beginner!
Bit of background about me, I'm 23 (nearly 24) and I am the queen of excuses when it comes to running...I can't run, my legs are crap (got bad cartilage in my knees and
tendonitis
in my ankles), I'm too tired, there's something on telly, I'll do it tomorrow....on and on it goes!

Parkrun newsletter - I thought worth sharing with you all
The following article is in the newsletter I just received from parkrun. I found it to be very touching and quite inspirational. Last Saturday I took part in the 105th Bradford parkrun, an event where they smashed their all-time attendance record as almost 400 people celebrated the life of Arthur

Newbie here - am on week 3 & need padding for my foot, any reccs?
I'm surprised at how easy I've found it so far, but I'm struggling with an ache/pressure pain in my left foot. This started back in March when I foolishly wore high wedges & walked alot, plus rubbish cushioning in ballet flats. It's in the middle by the ball of my foot, right where you push the clutch

Small fibre neuropathy with coeliac?
Hi all, I was diagnosed with coeliac last August, it started with having painful feet in Feb2011 which then spread to my hands a month later. My feet felt like I was walking on pebbles and I also had a burning feeling. Having been gluten free for 9 months my feet have improved that they only hurt when

W1R1 - Great when I finished
Lovely to think I have started and I am on my way. I find the progress of the weeks daunting but will see how I go. I loved the music and set up of the podcast, it was very motivational. I found it harder at the start than at the end, slightly odd but there we are. My left leg is so much weaker

A pain in the ankle
I have finally got new insoles that they physio has recommeded to help with the ankle pain I have been suffering with since January. I have been running once a week...usually...but have found my motivation has dipped these past few weeks. I'm planning a 4k tomorrow with insoles - although I've

Duct Tape Has More Uses Than I Thought
I just completed my third run for week 1, and I feel a sense of accomplishment, akin to saving kittens from trees or putting on a spare tire by myself with those funny jack-thingies in the trunk of cars. I am also learning new things at each run. Today I learned a bit more about patella-femoral taping

Firstly, thank you Kate for setting up the charity and this forum.
However, at the same time my arm started to hurt and the physio diagnosed
tendonitis
. Within 24 hours the pain was everywhere and last November the doctor, after a blood test, diagnosed PMR. He has never really agreed that the
tendonitis
was connected.

W2 R1 - I've done it after my foot injury! And have a very random question....
Finally got back to running today after a week's rest off my foot. The first run was tough, but really started to get into it after a while - I think I may have the running bug already! The 'sports' retailer that sold me the dodgy trainers which caused my foot injury had the cheek to tell me to take

High ESR reading
E.g. if you have a cold, sore throat, swollen glands,
tendonitis
etc. would that affect it? Could something esle nasty be going on? Seeing my RA consultant on 2 April so will ask her but anyone else have any ideas?

Ankle pain why?!!!!!
I'm in Wk8R2, so pretty far along. I haven't felt any pain so far while doing the plan except for the usual bit of stiffness. I can honestly say it's changed my life. But today I felt a slight twinge in my left ankle along the outside while I was running and it has persisted for the day. Any idea

Week 6 run 1 - not that bad =)
What a beautiful day it is!!! I think that its this glorious weather that made this run so good. I was a little nervous to be honest because I had read some comments saying that people had found week 6 the hardest out of all the podcasts, but I honestly didn't find it that bad. I actually didn't know

What would happen if I forced my finger down when it's stiff and sore and won't bend fully?
I believe this is due to
tendonitis
in the knuckles below but haven't quite understood it and have no more physio or GP visits lined up and no rheumy appt or rheumy nurse to ask either so wonder if anyone can tell me.
