Starting out
Hello! I’m a bit nervous about posting here, but I figure I’ll never get anywhere by just lurking on the sidelines..... I started C25k last week, after years of laziness, no exercise, and the pounds piling on. W1R1 I found incredibly difficult and I couldn’t complete it. I continued on with W1R2 and

Recovery from Tendonitis
Basically woke up with one heel very swollen - diagnosed with
Tendonitis
and told not to weight bear until a follow-up appointment next week. I’m devastated as I’m doing the C25k with a running group and they will all be weeks ahead of me.

And that’s week 4 done!
Off I went at 5am to do the last run in week 4. I was a little tired, but limited time today and wanted to get it done. Very pleased to say there were no shin splints, no knee pain, no ankle pain 😀 my calves ached a little but I’m okay with that. It felt like I was taking it really slow today, when

Oops
Went out for a run this morning with Mrs Psycho & today was supposed to be Wk 3 run 1. I say supposed to be because, I, not wearing my specs this morning chose the wrong week. I wondered why Mrs P started running before me & then I saw her in the distance doing high knee lifts. A quick check of my phone

Going to Mexico, travel with cipro and flagyl
Diagnosed with PMR Dec. 2016. Currently on 5mg DR Pred taken at 10pm. Currently good energy and sleep, emotionally overly sensitive. I've read here that cipro and flagyl may be contraindicated for people with PMR or people who are on Pred. I have a history of dirverticulitis and have traveled with

Sore ankle!
I suspect it’s
tendonitis
so have been resting/taking anti inflammatories/ice etc and it is improving but not quickly enough! I’ve obviously not run since (hard after getting into the 3 tines a week routine!).

WK9R1 - What a great comeback, feeling fantastic again
Well that went rather well if I say so myself. After 9 days of sitting on the Injury Couch nursing my injured calf muscle and getting fidgety through the lack of running. I finally ventured out into the big wide world for a little "Trial" comeback run last night, to see how things felt and how I got

Cortisone drip
Has the characteristics of
tendonitis
at the base of my thumb joints. Excruciating pain experienced. I'm not sure if cortisone in such large doses is good for me.. Had cortisone drips 6 months ago. Also, I am on Rheumalef and now she has prescribed plasmoquin in addition to the rheumalef.

Greetings from the Misty Isle........6 months since my last post!!
After seeing doctor, x-Ray and physio
tendonitis
was diagnosed. Walking and normal everyday things are fine but as soon as I twist or bend/crouch it is an ouch 😕 So no running for weeks only walking and daily stretches, but now I am allowed to jog a little as well as daily, more taxing stretches!

Tendonitis advice needed
Hi family, 4 weeks on I with extensor
tendonitis
in left foot. At least 2 more weeks, as next week is my wedding and our partners are staying for several days. Anybody has experience with tendon inflammation? When can I go back to running or at least safely try to run?

Banned for 5 weeks!
Have started physio this week due to tendinitis in both knees and he has banned me from running for at least 5 weeks - what on earth am I going to do with myself? He says I can walk, cycle, use the cross-trainer etc but it's just not the same. I only graduated in March so am really disappointed not

Maternal thyroid disorder in pregnancy and risk of cerebral palsy in the child: a population-based cohort study
It is difficult to know quite how much of a finding this is. I suspect we in the UK might question the number of mothers found to have thyroid disorders. (Certainly we see quite a number of posts where what could be regarded as the results of a thyroid disorder are actually dismissed or ignored.) The

Has anyone else been using DMSO for pain?
Has anyone else been using DMSO for pain? I find it really works well when my back and spine are in pain. It burn for a few minutes though but the effects of one application last for a few days. I use it on my knees also. I bought mine at tractor supply company. It technically says not for human use

Ankle pain
Not from running but I hopped out of the shower and landed hard on my foot and felt a pain in the front foot near ankle area. It hurts with weight bearing. Not bending mostly just when angled before lifting off on it when weight bearing most. I haven't run since doing it and rest as much as possible

Oh dear, another injury :(
For the last few weeks I have had what I think is Extensor
Tendonitis
, I’m not in agony and have still been running but it isn’t getting any better despite many stretching and rolling exercises.

having a (temporary) break due to knee pain....
I have just started C25K and loved the wee bit I've done so far. Unfortunately I've developed really bad anterior knee pain. I've read all about it and hope with exercises etc I will be able to fix it but I'm off on a walking trip with friends in 2 days for 4 days, home for a short bit then off to Canada
