Gutted - I graduated last Sunday (woohoo) and had a slightly niggly left ankle on and off for the weeks leading up to it, but nothing major. I got up on Monday morning and my ankle was really sore. I suspect it’s tendonitis so have been resting/taking anti inflammatories/ice etc and it is improving but not quickly enough! I’ve obviously not run since (hard after getting into the 3 tines a week routine!). My question is, how long can I have off before I have to think about going back a few weeks on the programme!? I’m feeling very impatient and want to get out there but know I could do more damage if I don’t properly give it time ☹️
Sore ankle!: Gutted - I graduated last Sunday... - Couch to 5K
Sore ankle!
@iannodatruffe always says you can go 2 weeks without loss of conditioning.
Congratulations on graduating! 🎉🎊🎉
Sounds like you know what to do. I hope you recover quickly!
Don’t think about running whilst it’s still painful or even just sore. If it doesn’t recover, get some medical or physio advice.
I know just how you feel! I had a niggly ache in my thigh just before W9R3 but so wanted to graduate so did the run. Wasn’t a great run & ive bern suffering ever since. Did 1st postgrad run yesterday & I really shouldn’t have done. I’m definitely resting for a while until the soreness has gone. It’s so frustrating but I keep telling myself I’ll be running for a long time so a short break now isn’t the end of it. Like you, I don’t want to break the habit I’ve developed over last nine weeks. Tendonitis is really painful so I do hope yours clears up soon. 🙂
Hope you ankle heals soon Gemma ..Im on the IC also ..It's not fun ..Desperate to run again ..But give yourself time to heal properly ..👍
