HRT
Had a RCA STEMI on Sunday night just gone. I’m now home and starting to process everything. Saw my GP today and he’s taken me off my HRT. Said I could now have free flu jab tho! I would rather have the HRT, do I definitely have to come off it? Looking online just reflects the ever changing stances on

Maybe I’ve missed it, but I haven’t seen much discussion regarding what people think may have triggered their PMR. I realize I likely have the genetic make-up that allows my immune system to flip into overdrive, causing PMR. But I believe it doesn’t just occur; there is a triggering event. Clearly to

Flu and Flare-up
In early March I caught the flu. I completely lost my appetite. I didn't want to eat anything. On March 8th I felt so bad that I requested a home visit from the GP. She said that this year in the local community the flu seemed to be worse in the patients who had had the flu jab. She prescribed Tamiflu

I had PMR age 60, resolution after 1 year of prednisone. Now, 9 years later, it’s back.Any others with a long interval between episodes?
First time was after shingles vaccine; resolved and was able to taper off meds. Absolutely no problems for 9 years- thought it was gone for good. This time no obvious trigger except maybe stress.

Had my appointment with neurologist. Hadn't seen him in almost two years. NO NEW LESIONS!! Seems apparent the relapse (call it pseudo or whatever you want) was from the shingles vaccine. While I was there doc talked for an hour about anti-inflammatory diet. Gave me both Overcoming ME and Wahls Protocal

Everyone Please Try Taurine.
I have had RLS for 5 years now and at it's worst I was getting spasms that locked both legs sticking straight out from my chair and vibrating. One day last year I had one of my lateral thinking epiphanies and wondered if the Taurine that is added to Energy drinks to prevent the coffee jitters might

Anybody take taurine/l-arginine/magnesium/potassium?
Hi all - does anybody take any/all of the above supplements to help with their heart issues/ PACs/ectopics? If so, when do you take them through the day? I'd always spread mine out. I get mine from Holland & Barret in the UK, so I take around 2000mg of each taurine and l-arginine a day, along with about

Shingles vaccine side effects?
I had the first of 2 shots for shingles on Wednesday. Shringrex I believe. I asked what the side effects would be and all she said is “you’ll feel like crap for about 3 days and your arm is going to hurt”. Boy was she right! The 1st day, I could barely get out of bed and then called it a night at 5:00

INFLUENZA!
I have it. Had to cancel my trip to Sweden. feel VERY sorry for myself. BUT things could be way way worse. I had the flu shot and am hoping for a lighter case. I am thinking that the prednisone made me susceptible to the flu but that it now will HELP my lungs with the inflammation and coughing! a double

Ginkgo Biloba for RLS
I took 60 mg of Ginkgo Biloba in the middle of awful sleepless night and slept like a baby till morning. Manufacturer: Jarrow Formulas from iherb.com. It was the very first time when I took Ginkgo in the middle of the night. Before I only used it during daytime and the same 60 mg gave me a headache.

Magnesium Information
Hello all, In preparation for my appointment today with my cardiologist, I did a bunch more research on the micronutrients I've shared about in other posts. A change for the better at last.
Hi friends, went to have another Cystoscope yesterday, the good news was that the doctor saw no new tumour. So recommended for me to start the BCG treatment, which will be done at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. So hopefully I can tolerate it. As there is no alternative, for me as my heart is not up
