Blood test results. Help please.
After two days of chasing round in ever decreasing circles I've finally managed to obtain a copy of my last blood test results. As you all suspected, the only thyroid test was TSH. These bloods were taken at 1:40pm after breakfast, coffee, and lunch. No one mentioned needing to have them taken first

More questions and answers
Hi all it’s been a while. It’s about 5:22 am in the morning over here and I’ve been up since about 3 am, trying to get back to sleep. Can anyone else believe we almost to Thanksgiving?! I feel like time has flown by way to fast. I wanted to apologize for my past couple emotional/ depressing posts.

Lipoprotien a
Just found out I've got inherited lipoprotein a, bad cholesterol. I also have chronic kidney disease stage 3 and had half my thyroid removed 3 years ago, now on 100mcg Thyroxine daily. Doctors want me to take high dose Atorvastatin, I'm worried as since my hypothyroidism i have high Creatine Kinase levels

Possible causes of Ataxia
🙂 This is a ‘long read’ and may be difficult to interpret, but never the less it’s interesting. What processes can cause ataxia? The pathophysiology of cerebellar ataxias is as diverse as the various neurological and systemic diseases affecting the cerebellum. Broadly classifying ataxias into genetic

Feeling somewhat pants!
Hey guys I just did some tests as I feel terrible and so so tired and it's been getting worse over the past year. I was expecting them to come back awful to be honest as I've had far worse and felt better so was a little surprised that they were far from the worst I've had: Red Blood Cells Haemoglobin

Fail at the GP
Well DippyDame I had my appointment this morning - I had sent a letter ahead with a proper print-out (screen-shot) of the Medichecks results showing raised TSH, and lower FT4 and FT3. She did mention the lower FT3 but still said she cannot go against what the endo had said - no treatment. I pointed

Creatine Kinase levels
Does anyone know about Serum Creatine Kinase levels as last November 18 it was high in the range which could explain the muscle aches/pains 187 iu/L [25.0 - 200.0] On the same blood test, the Serum creatinine was below range 58umol/L [60.0-20.0] In Dec 18 my HDL cholesterol was above range 2.4mmol

Irisin as a regulator of bone and glucose metabolism
Just what does any endocrinologist really know about hormones? Do they even know of the existence of half of them? No, of course I am not saying that they should know about things that have not been discovered. But they just might accept that:

Newbie with possible thyroid problems
Hello - I am new on this thyroid forum and a 70-year-old female. I have a question about my results and symptoms. I was in touch by email last October with a retired gp regarding my B12 as I thought I may need more frequent injections owing to symptoms (I am on monthly jabs) and was preparing to inject

Is anyone else atypical ?
Are there many others like me who had to start on high doses of prednisone and stay on a relatively high dose ? I got diagnosed in October 2018 ( although I think I've had PMR for over a year) and it took 30 mg before I felt better . I've been tapering Dorset Lady way ( thank you!) and got to 22.5 mg

To statin, or not to statin...creatine kinase and lp/a levels normal
Hi all, I'm after a little bit of advice/guidance. I am a 39 yr old female who has recently been diagnosed with familial hypercholesterolemia. For those who are not aware, this is a disorder which causes high cholesterol levels due to a genetic mutation and means the body cannot remove 'bad' cholesterol

New here and confused
Hello, I just joined the group as it seems likely I have a thyroid problem. Been feeling unwell since the start of the year - tired, low mood, losing weight, also muscle weakness. After going to my GP, I was referred to rheumatology at local hospital, then to neurology and most recently to oncology.

High creatine kinase
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had an issue with a elevated creatine kinase due to the medication used to combat RCC? My CK levels have averaged 600+ and as high as 2300. They have checked my heart and brain and everything is fine. Just trying to see if it is connected to RCC or another issue altogether
