Systemic Thyroid Hormone Status During Levothyroxine Therapy In Hypothyroidism: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Evidence of the need for T3, in at least some hypothyroid patients, seems to be pouring in these days. Getting that translated into receiving combination T4/T3 treatment seem as far away as ever - and disappearing all too fast.

Edited Aug 24: it is very interesting to see the similarities within some of the replies to this post. PLEASE DO SHARE info if you proceed with ft3 testing and/or treatment for thyroid. And if anyone out there has already got some PD relief from thyroid treatment, info would greatly be appreciated

Systemic Thyroid Hormone Status During Levothyroxine Therapy In Hypothyroidism: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
The paper says: Whether this approach universally restores thyroid hormone signaling is unknown. I beg to differ. It is has often been reported that simply normalizing TSH does NOT fix everything! Heigh-ho. At least it is another chunk of information. Full paper behind paywall. J Clin Endocrinol

Gluten intolerance?
Hi all, I am a 27 year old male who recently went travelling in south east Asia. After 3 months I had to return home after being sure I was dying out there. Having seen my GP I have had all the blood tests done for the relevant diseases as well as normal blood counts but nothing seems to be showing

Test results, lots of numbers - insights please
NB: I realise it's nearly Xmas - I won't take any action (except online) until next week, more likely January. So please tell me if I should bring this question up after the season's over, instead. I wanted to do the typing asap today for fear of losing the bits of paper by tomorrow. ;) These results

Creatine Kinase Raynaud's Syndrome
I have been to a Rheumatologist for my Raynaud's and after my blood results came back, they have noticed levels of the enzyme Creatine Kinase (CK) in my blood. I have had more blood work done and I am awaiting further information. Has anyone else had this enzyme mentioned before? Thanks.

Hi, I wonder if I could get some comments on some private blood results. My GP is refusing to run any further tests on me and has effectively told me that some people have to live with not knowing what’s wrong with them (sigh): TSH 3.04 (0.27 – 4.2) FT4 19.3 (12.0 22.0) T4 101 (59 –

First blood results- Raised serum alkaline phosphates level.
I have just got hold of my 1st blood results after 4 weeks of Pred for PMR. My levels of CRP - 13 and ESR - 50, but there was another raised level, “Serum alkaline phosphates level (XaLJx) above range 124 U/L - above high reference limit” After googling and research I find these statements; Liver function

Hi All, So I went to a new endocrinologist today. I am type 1 diabetic, so I was going for diabetes only, as I have another doc for thyroid. However, this doc, and I didn't even know, also looks at TPOab, Tgab, Free T4 and Free T3, unlike mostly every other endo - yaaaaaay!! BUT, he said my 17 symptoms
