Hello all-just looked at my blood tests and sed rate is 11, creatine kinase is 50. Are these the correct tests? And are they showing elevated results? I know some of you have said the Pred could mask results.

GP insisting on using CRP & ESR as inflammatory markers...and managing to get a creatine kinase blood test ordered...legs are still an issue
Hello I was called in to my GP surgery yesterday, by one of the GPs, the letter indicating it was for a medication review. She's not one of the GPs I prefer to see, she can be a little vague etc. But we ended up going through my meds and she asked about steroids being on my repeat....I said that although

Case report: Rhabdomyolysis and kidney injury in a statin-treated hypothyroid patient-kill two birds with one stone
This case report has a good side: the patient did get diagnosed and treated. But that only follows the dreadful treatment - missing cause of high cholesterol, took statins, rhabdomyolysis, kidney injury. Claims to have been reversed. (I'd like to see the patient's opinion!) But questionable whether

Cirrhosis but no change in bloodwork
Diagnosed with fatty liver 10 years ago. Recently had a CT done for kidney stones and it showed Nodular liver. I was shocked. The weird part is my blood tests over the last 10 years always came back normal or just slightly elevated AST/ALT so doctors never thought there was a problem. Even now my standard

Is this PMR?
Hello I'm new to this site and to the world of PMR. Hoping to get some guidance from this lovely community. My GP has diagnosed me with PMR at 42 and I'm not entirely convinced as I don't fit the symptoms of aches and stiffness in the shoulders and hips. This all started in March 23 where I woke

how my appointment went -with results
I saw a professor who is on the ‘list’ he performed lots of tests. MRI all normal. Thyroid bloods in my profile from Nov jan TSH 0.58 and FT4 11.5 same ranges as previous. we went back to through my bloods since 2017 it seems my TSH and FT4 always waiver between 0.35-1 and FT4 no more than 12.

FINALLY had my 1st Neurologist appointment today…..
and I don’t like my Doctor. He kept cutting me off and kept saying everything is due to Migraines or COVID or premenopausal. Kinda being condescending. Like half the symptoms I said he would say oh we all have that! even me! For example: muscle twitching, stabbing pains everywhere,, shaking, Major fatigue

Thyroid or Pituitary Problem?
Sorry in advance for the long essay! Desperatly hoping for some advice. I am a 30-year-old female suffering fatigue, brain fog & migraine with visual disturbances since July 2020, therefore I stopped the COCP after a 10-year use (which was prescribed for the management of menorrhagia). Since stopping

Mitochondrial Protections from Exercise (Part Ib)
There have been very many studies published on the effects of exercise, especially of endurance/aerobic exercise, in restoring the number, the quality and the activity of mitochondria, both in the skeletal muscles, the heart and in the brain neurons. As these are our highest energy demanding tissues

Please help me form a plan of action based on my blood results!
Just got my bloods back and would appreciate any advice what all these could mean and/or how I can myself get well(er) as I am not at all convinced this knowledge will ever come from my clueless but kind GP and NHS Endo. By way of background, thyroid disease runs in my family, and I have had years

Anxiety thru the roof thinking MND
For a good 9 months now I've had a tingling sensation in my right shoulder blade first thing in a morning, it tends to go after a few minutes & then have occasional pain / tingling through the day, but then can go days without feeling it. It's started to get bit more noticeable in past few months. Then
