Ferritin and folate.
My nhs blood test results are coming in dribs and drabs - vit D is missing, T3 and free T4 missing. Hoping call from GP tomorrow will clarify but so far, would anyone mind commenting on my folate and ferritin readings please? Ferritin - 200ug/L (30.0 - 260.0) Folate - 5.9 ug/L (> 3.9). B12 is 328

Elevated LDH
Hello, I haven’t posted before. My 44-year-old husband was diagnosed 2 years ago. He has been in watch and wait. We just met with his oncologist. His other blood counts are relatively stable, just increasing at a low rate. But his LDH has steadily increased the last 3 tests and is elevated. His oncologist

T3 as opposed to levothyroxine
yesterday I had a consultation with an endocrinologist. Told her my story of having issues with levothyroxine. The fact that the 2 different brands I tried made my original symptoms worse and gave me chronic joint pain. She looked at my most recent results and suggested T3 alone as I seem to have a conversion

Prioritise quality of life
I just read an article based on Chris Whitty's speech. Just remove some focus on old-age. And re-focus on all too many of us almost regardless our ages. [i]
Prioritise quality of life over prolonging it for elderly, Chris Whitty tells medics

Cannot get my TSH in range - help needed please, should I switch to levo?
Hello, I’ve been taking Thyroid-S NDT for 6+years and I’ve been trying to get my TSH to be close to range but cannot seem to get anywhere. I’ve tracked my ranges from 2022 and I’m still no closer. I’m nervous as when medichecks send my results they always say there’s higher risk of heart issues and osteoporosis

Pessary
I recently had a gellhorn pessary fitted at the hospital pessary clinic. While it’s stopped the symptoms of cystocele I now get little stinging sensations and a dull lower stomach ache. In the last few days the ache has spread to my groin areas. I’m wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms or

Real-time measurement of glucose as a proxy for levodopa concentration?
Goud et al. write [1]: "because dose optimization is currently based on patients’ report of symptoms, which are difficult for patients to describe, the management of PD is challenging. We report on a microneedle sensing platform for continuous minimally invasive orthogonal electrochemical monitoring

Best natural anti anxiety remedy
Hi, I was wondering what natural treatments people are taking to help with the anxiety that a lot of us with T have to deal with every day ? Does 5-htp work ? How about St Johns wort and L Theanine ? Which seems to work best for you ?

New blood results from Thriva.
I have had an increase in weight of 4kg, from 60kg to 64kg, during a period of 2 months. I am struggling to lose weight. I decided to have my blood tested to see if my thyroid is being properly managed. I have had an increase in weight and have constant fatigue. Can someone help me decipher the results

Blood test interpretation help
Hi everyone. I’m so glad I’ve found this site! I hope someone can help me with interpreting my blood tests. I was living abroad until recently and went to see the Dr as was struggling to lose weight. He did bloods which all came back as normal except for my TSH which was reported as < 0.0083 (normal

Help with latest bloods please!
hi everyone I’m on 50mcg of Levothyroxine for Hashimotos and my original test results are in my profile. I’ve just had some bloods done with the GP and they’ve said no further action is required. I’m conscious that there is a difference between being within range and optimal, so I thought I’d come on

Results since taking T3
I've just got my bloods back (protocols as per this forum followed). I am speaking to my endo at the end of Feb and would welcome some guidance please. I added T3 (continued with 75mcg Levo). First 2 weeks 5mcg x3 per day and then 10mcg x3 per day ever since. The first month on T3 was really encouraging

Latest Thyroid Results
My ‘thyroid journey’ has been an interesting one and now approaching its 4th year. I’m fairly convinced I don’t have autoimmune thyroid disease and relatively confident my adrenals play a big part in my symptoms, however it’s not just adrenals as I’ve tested myself on HC solo and it doesn’t work. Aaanyway

Slow release T3?
I have just been in contact with a nurse/doctor who says she has slow release T3 in 5mg tablets. Yes you read that right - 5MG!! One lick of that would probably kill me! She went on to ask how long I had been taking T3 as one should only take it for 6 weeks or else I could get permanent thyroid deficiency

Has anyone whose tried T3 and NDT felt better on just T4?
A little bit of history - thyroidectomy aged 21. More or less fine on just T4 for 20 plus years. I then saw an Endo about parathyroid issues in 2018 at which point he suggested ERFA because he felt lots of my symptoms were related to my thyroid and T3 conversion. Since then I’ve tried many different

Today was the day.
Relatively unique to me, my body comes out in rashes when my lungs are struggling. The rashes can come out of nowhere and will often split my skin. In a couple of area's they have permanently changed my skin. I see a great dermatology consultant who said she's never seen anything like what i have.
