I took a statin drug in January 2023 & by end of Feb 2023 I had skin ddiscolorations. In Mar I went to a dermatologist who started treating me with steroids & by May I had a biopsy, it was Lichenoid Dermatitis. It's left ugly, dark splotches on mmeals over with peeling skin. I'm using Dupixent every 2 weeks plus the occasional steroid shot & it's helping with the terrible breakouts & peeling.
My questions is has anyone else had this? Do you have dark patches on your skin too? If so, what have you done to erase them? Thank you for any help🪻

Solidarity to you! I have eczema, but caused by other cholesterol-reduction meds (as far as I know: I had memory loss while on statins). I also have white patches (loss of pigment) not dark ones, plus some skin looks permanently sunburned. So I sympathise but have no useful advice on those beyond be brave and tell anyone who asks that it's a non-contagious skin condition.
Congratulations on getting Dupixent and what sounds like reasonably promptly. I'm still trying with tacrolimus. Two tips:
1. be cautious and ask your doctors about how long you use steroids: I have patches of thin skin on my feet which seem like they might be due to overuse.
2. moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. You don't mention this at all. Find products and a regime that works for you and stick to it. It won't stop the peeling but might slow it.
Hi & thank you. Yes I moisturize to death, especially my face. I use Eucerin, all types of thick eczema creams, Vaseline on my body & Bio-Oil on my face. My skin is thin on my feet from steroid use too. Parts of my face, the back of my hands & the tops of my feet make me look like a burn victim. The peeling on my legs just looks gross, I'm looking forward to colder weather. I have the personality to override this but I don't take too many selfies. My next visit to the Dermatologist will be for a good fade cream & I'm ready😮💨
I'm so sorry about your memory loss. I wish I could do something to make yours better. Thank you for the suggestions. Take it one day @ a time as I'm sure you are💝
