I am on

Steroid Withdrawal???
:-) She did offer me Naproxen as a way of getting off
steroids
, but told me I'd have to have something to protect my stomach when taking the Naproxen. I told her about the one and only time I'd taken an Ibruprofen tablet.

tapering off steroids
Hello I'm currently tapering off 5mg Prednisolone, initiated a few years ago when I had Covid which was triggering my severe asthma. I don't need it anymore for that reason except I was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency a few years ago. Recently seen an endocrinologist and had a short synacthen

Another auto immune condition: Lichen sclerosus
Lichen sclerosus is an unpleasant condition, mostly post-menopausal women, no known cure, just topical
steroids
which 'may help with symptoms'. My GP gave me no advice and little sympathy, other than the steroid cream and to come back in 3 months. And watch for any cancerous changes.

asthma and the seaside
Hi everyone I really struggle in the summer with my asthma, have tried all sorts such as Xolair which didn't work for me (not eligible for the other biologics apparently) It seems I'm just expected to get by on
steroids
and staying indoors.

I had Covid last year and was very ill, lungs badly affected and put on
steroids
and inhalers, my asthma which had almost gone for years suddenly re-appeared.

Still on
steroids
I started to taper off over a period of 10 days. Within 2 days I felt ill not realising, until a friend suggested , it could be steroid withdrawal. I've had all the symptoms plus loads of crying. I was shocked. I wish the hospital had warned me this could happen.

Partner out of hospital
He is now out of hospital but on an awful lot of medication including
steroids
and tablets that suppress alcohol cravings. He has been diagnosed with Alcoholic Hepatitis for the second time in 2 years.

Staying on 5mg indefinitely.....
I know this is likely due to the
steroids
but may also be genetic as my mother was very active before being diagnosed with PMR. and may have remained so had her steroid dosages been managed a lot better.

Surgery for synovial chondromatosis anyone?
The elbow is currently relatively pain-free due to a recent infusion of
steroids
but extension of the arm is still limited (although better).

Obviously due to
steroids
but I am only on 2mg. Is there anything I can do to improve this reading? I rarely catch anything including my husband's odd cold.
