so had the Op. All went well. Discharged the same day.

Steroids given by injection b4 discharge.

notes on discharge paper- take 1 x 5mg twice daily for 2 days the 1 x 5mg once daily for 2 days. GP will have a fit when reading that.

I was taking 1/2 mg daily and told hospital.

But hey ho I have no PMR pain so not complaining. My question is can I / shall I drop to 1/2 again straight after. 😊😊😊😊

Your injection may have contained a little more Pred. I would wait a bit on your tiny but mighty dose.

So glad all went well!

You should be able to, but maybe try 1mg for a little while rather than stepping straight back to 1/2mg.

No - that is for post-op recovery adrenal cover. It may have been a lap chole and you think it was minor stuff - it is still a massive insult to the body and you had an anaesthetic and got blown up like a balloon into the bargain. I'd actually consider the 5mg could go on another few days if it were me! You have up to 2 weeks to drop back without affecting the adrenal function.

Have you talked to any medical professional about what you should do?

Not myself. The Consultant who did my op gave the instructions to the nurse doing my discharge. 😊

What was she told? Was it written down? You could always ask if need be.

yes it was written down. And the discharge report was given to me to give to my GP 😊

Did it help you on what you should do?

Yes thanks. I also asked on here and PMRpro and DL gave sound advice too. So think all will go well. 😊😊😊
