Me Again
I Am unable to take methotrexate so am on Hydroxychloroquine 400mg daily he flatly refuses to give me any
steroids
and I don’t think the HX has kicked in yet. I have inflammation in my stomach and back went to A & E by ambulance after calling 111 they prescribed Pregabalin for neuropathic pain.

How long to take Actemra?
I know not everyone takes it and I'm on such a high dose of
steroids
that it seems it's not helping me. I'd love to hear your experiences and advice. Thank you so much!

Heart failure and fatigue
I have longstanding diagnoses of polymyositis and UCTD, for which I take
steroids
and HCQ, so I am very used to chronic fatigue and weakness, but I'm now so burnt out feeling it barely seems worth getting out of bed at all. Any thoughts on avenues to explore (eg medication options?)

Just manage the exacerbations with a short course of oral
steroids
. it seems still that not many people are offered this medication, not many professionals seem to have heard about it either, which is why I am sharing my experience of taking it on here.

Hemorrhoids and ibs
I don't really want to keep using
steroids
either due to the risks to the skin which may compound the issues. In the past the GP has advised me to eat a high fibre diet, drink plenty water and be active all of which I do and have done for years.

Aching legs
I can manage the pain through the day but can’t sleep at night My haemo thinks it might be Polymyalgia rheumatica but I’m not convinced and don’t want to take
steroids
. I’m trying an anti inflammatory diet . My platelets are about 700 and I’m on 10 x 500g of hydroxycarbamide a week.

Lumbosacral plexopathy - Pain returning after steroid treatment
I can't live on
steroids
as I'll be the size of a house if I carry on, besides the damage it will do to my bones. While on the
steroids
I cut down the Gabapentin and came off the buprenorphine patches but I'm already starting to increase the Gabapentin to see if I can manage this way.

I initially thought it was a reaction to my
steroids
but having tried taking them in the night it made no difference. The fuzziness has usually gone by midday!

Fracture Risk
***Moderator addition: please keep in mind as you read this thread and the replies that while inhaled
steroids
can have some side effects, not everyone will be affected, and
untreated or poorly controlled asthma is also very harmful and can be fatal.

Immunology when using donor eggs
I think I'm quite worried that most clinics spoke to do not offer immunes treatment other than low dose
steroids
and clexane. I had tests which showed high NK cells and cytokines and had tried intralipids and IVIG to address it (to be fair, my transfer still didn't work in spite of using them).

Having been up and down trying to taper off
steroids
which was very hard my consultant has agreed to keep me on them for 12 months which I’m over joyed about as they’ve helped me so much, wish they’d agreed to them years ago. Rash on my face has gone, I’m going make up free!
