Arnica cream for jab reactions

Just posting in case it's useful to anyone else...🤞

I've posted previously about a hive style reaction I get after SC injections on my tummy. I've tried allsorts, including strong antihistamines and mild steroid cream, to ease the itch and calm the redness. I've now found that Arnica cream is the only thing that works and I also think the skin returns to it's normal colour more quickly too. It's cheap if you find it in B&M, Home Bargains type shops too.

hello, glad Arnica works for you. I react adversely to many things Arnica being one. I find Lavender essential oil swiftly deals with most skin reactions/hives. x

are you using sterile wipes before you inject??? It may be a reaction to them rather than a reaction to the shots. Just a thought x

Yep, but I stopped for a while and still had the reaction. I think I'm sensitive to cobalt...it's a thing apparently. Trust me to be allergic to my "medicine" 😂 At least I have found a way to ease the itch.

Don’t use it straight away as arnica isn’t meant to be used on open wounds. I’ve used it successfully for bruising that comes out afterwards.

I use it 12+ hours afterwards when my reaction begins 😊

I love Arnica Gel I find it reduces swelling and pain as well as bruises🙂

That's good. Not everyone knows not to apply arnica to broken skin. It really helps me too with bruising.

I use Arnica cream to treat bruises and it works well for that. I am aware that it can cause problems for some. It should not be taken orally or applied to broken skin where absorption can occur. It may produce contact dermatitis when applied to skin.
