Cancer BREAKTHROUGH: Revolutionary way to target tumours - 70% success rate BRITISH cancer doctors are to trial a revolutionary radiotherapy
The study into the alpha radiation treatment follows the success of trials on 26 skin cancer patients where 70 per cent of them did not experience a return of the cancer after a year. There is also evidence to suggest it could have an immune-boosting effect on the body as a whole. It means successful

Good news - stage IIIb NSCLC Adeno
Hi I just wanted to share some good news. My recent scans have come back all clear again! I had an MRI head and paid for a private PET scan for body. I was originally diagnosed in 2014 , aged 43, and was told it was incurable, inoperable and terminal. Since then I have had four rounds of chemo (Cisplatin

SRT Protocols?
I have problem with my PPO insurance as they partially approved my SRT treatment at "USC Noris cancer center" so I have to pay the "facility fees". The Blue Shield California said that the same treatment is available at Adventist Health Glendale, and regarding my 6 months Firmagone injections they said

Dominant-negative PD1-armored CART cells induce remission in refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients
Background: The chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell treatment has been demonstrated as an effective therapy to relapse/refractory B cell malignancy. However, tumor microenvironment influences and affects CAR T treatment. For example, programmed death ligand 1/2 (PDL1/2) may inhibit the CAR T cells

Dermatologist says it’s just a routine apt. After saying it was skin cancer.
We have been waiting for an apt. At the hospital expecting it within 2 weeks but on chasing the apt. Found it had been put forward as routine and is scheduled for 6 weeks. Should we wait for that or get a second opinion. When the visiting dermatologist saw my daughter she told her it was likely to need

Resuming nutritional supplements after radiation therapy
I just finished 33 RT treatments last Friday. Those treatments were aimed at the 4 lymph nodes that were detected during my PSMA scan in January. The PSMA scan took place within a clinical study at Yale and was initiated due to BCR of my G9 PCa. In addition to the RT, I've been on ADT (Firmagon) and

Hyperthyroidism and hypopituitarism: two incompatible diagnoses?
This is a moderately interesting case report. However, the reason I am posting is mostly to do with the comment that Graves (Hyperthyroidism) and hypopituitarism are not mutually exclusive. Just why would anyone ever suggest they are mutually exclusive? Entirely different mechanisms. Just because the

No biopsy possible
Hi there. I just wondered if there is anyone out there who has not been able to give biopsy tissue because the tumour(s) were either inaccessible or were sitting too near either main blood vessels or other risky areas. I have had two operations to remove two tumours. One operation removed aright lobe

New to all of this...
Hi We are new to all of this and just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation to us or can give us some advice. My partner finished 15 rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy 2 years ago and has now been cancer free for 2 years, as a result of the treatment he has lost his fertility completely
