How did you find out about PRD?
Hey everybody 👋 Hope you’re doing ok. I’m interested to know (being nosey) how you first found out about Pelvic Radiation Disease? For me it was a bit of Google-Fu as I was desperately researching all these awful symptoms that had appeared since my treatment. I’d made the connection that radiotherapy

Interesting report on the efficacy of IMRT on prostate cancer
An 8-year study comparing the results of various cancer treatments concluded that IMRT is equal to or in some cases superior to other treatments such as brachytherapy and surgery. Among the numbers mentioned were: "Men with localized prostate cancer who are treated with external-beam radiation therapy

I had hormone therapy with Casodex 150, followed by Radiation treatment for a 7 week period from March

Frailty, G-8 Score & PCa outcome.
New paper below. Is frailty inevitable? We could work-out each day & eat a pescatorian diet (aka pesco-vegetarian) like Jack LaLanne & die at age 96 (he died of pneumonia because he wouldn't see a doctor - it would have interfered with his work-out.) The G-8 {Geriatric 8 score} questionaire [1] allows

Radiotherapy burns
My neck and armpit are burning. I have creams. Any ideas about how to keep the area cool. I can’t walk around with my arm in the air all the time. Also can I ask how long before people had a bath? I’ve had 20 sessions and just finished 2 days ago.

Has anyone changed from letrozole & ibrance to tamoxifen after progression of tumors?
Hi, my mum has been on ibrance & letrozole for just over 1 yr. now (mets to the spine) and latest scans (due to hospital admission with fever and confusion) showed new tumor in brain! Oncologist has suggested radiotherapy for the new tumor (she had 2 days ago and so far so good) and a change of meds

Scheduled for SBRT
On Tuesday I am scheduled to begin a new road in this cancer journey. Five years ago I had a lumpectomy for breast cancer and while setting me up for follow up radiation they discovered a mass in my lung which turned out to be adenocarcinoma. Three months after the lumpectomy, I had a left upper lobectomy

Spots on brain discovery
Hi all. Since my last post about Apalutamide I've had a very bumpy journey, being admitted to hospital with a virus (not Covid19, they checked) and the biggest shock, having a headache, subsequent MRI revealing tumour spots on the brain. So this is very rare apparently and I'm now on a ten day radiotherapy

In need of advise for my father
Hello everyone. My father was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 PCa in another country (2017). He immediately had bi-lateral orchiectomy, and thereafter when the PSA began to rise, he was prescribed Xtandi (lasted ~6 months) and subsequently had some radiotherapy to the pelvis and spine (pain management

Couldn't wait anymore!
After more than 4 months of no PSA test , I finally confronted the Covid-19 intimidation and got the test.It came back <0.003 again. It's almost one year of ADT(next month) after my oligometatasis CK radiotherapy. I don't know which of them is working.... may be both! My question is ...is it time to

I am recovering from Vulvia cancer had 26 treatments of Radiotherapy and 6 of chemotherapy in June/July last year. I am healing well though I still get a little itchy and I was told to use dilators which if I use size no 2 can cause me to bleed a little is this normal. my Macmillan nurse said to me
