Did you stop all forms of treatment before these numbers jumped - because I would suggest that we are missing something about your case history to better inform.

No RP, (assumed), so what was your treatment plan ?

Long story.....I have COPD never smoked,in March 2014,went for my 12 month cnpheck up,blood test and breathing machine. Said I was having trouble going to loo and having to a lot. Did further blood test for Prostrate Cancer. Never heard nothing until mid October when I received a letter from Doctors asking me to contact ASAP. Turned up to find had PSA of 26,took another blood test and referred me to hospital.PSA had risen to 28. Attended Hospital.Seen Nurse specialist confirmed possible PC, had to see specialist put me on Hormone injections every 12 weeks, booked me in for biopsy, turned up and Doctor said I would have to go back later and have biopsy done under sedation. Results several weeks later Gleason score of 9. Type 3 advanced, seen consultant again with oncologist, saying would not operate but 37 days of radiotherapy, which subsequently had, also hormone injections for2 years. Had 3 monthly blood tests PSA went down to less than 0.1,in 2016 changed to 6 monthly blood tests. In June blood test showed a small increase in PSA, blood test in Dec showed had risen slightly again, put back on 3 monthly blood tests again. We moved from Redditch to where we are now to a bungalow. Now under different Hospital in Boston, had 2 further 3 monthly blood tests and has risen more than expected, the MDT at the hospital said I needed a PET scan, had to travel to Nottingham for this on 21st April, still not heard results yet

I get it much better now.

When I got my Dx, it had taken me 4 months to actually get in front of a urologist - which was done aggressively, because months of visits to emergency wards got me nowhere.

I've learned that when red flags go up concerning the prostate, it is time to act ASAP to improve your long term prognosis and to tackle it at the earliest point possible.

One of the problems with the medical profession is that there are too many cracks to fall through, plus the insurance coverage issues that can cause disincentives to staying ahead of the curve.

You are doing the right things - your are getting some tests done and your awareness will serve you well.

It's no time to panic, but it is time to address what might be an early warning that something needs to be checked out.

We wish you well on your journey.
