Hi all. Since my last post about Apalutamide I've had a very bumpy journey, being admitted to hospital with a virus (not Covid19, they checked) and the biggest shock, having a headache, subsequent MRI revealing tumour spots on the brain. So this is very rare apparently and I'm now on a ten day radiotherapy treatment cycle over the next two weeks. I feel ok, sleepy and a little sickly but nothing too bad. My oncologist says outcomes vary massively and it can be back to business as usual, possibly surgery but possible really bad news. We will see. I've not seen this mentioned on the site before so thought I'd see if others had had their Apc go this direction. Best wishes.

I can not answer your question but I can say , damn you’re an unlucky son of a gun. You are definitely due for a good string of luck with your latest treatment. I sure hope it goes well...I’ll alss also say a prayer for you my friend.

So sorry to hear this. I’m hoping for an incredible outcome with the radiation treatment. Something I have gleaned from other’s posts on here is that when things look really bad miraculous turnarounds can happen.
I’ll be thinking of you and praying for just that.
Big hugs,
gJohn
You have been through a lot....praying for the best outcome!
Thanks guys. Hoping this is just another hurdle to get over. Would be awesome to see the kids grow up a bit more.
Whoa easytiger... I pray that you survive this for many years to see the kids grow up a lot more..🙏
No case is the same of course, but the same happed to me and they Gamma Knifed them out. They are optimistic and I moved on. I hope it’s the same result for you.
Good luck tiger! And all the best to you going forward. I'll be praying for you.
Yeah, that's rare with PC. A friend had brain involvement, but it was attributed to melanoma, which he also had. Another friend had cranium involvement, but the tumors pressed on his brain, causing vision problems. They were able to zap them with SBRT, restoring his vision. My father had a primary lymphoma deep in his brain, which they treated with radiation back in the days before stereotactic radiation - needless to say, the imprecise radiation used back then had many bad side effects that he would not have suffered with today's technology.
ET: Godspeed on this new tx path. You've been through a lot, but have a lot to live for with your kids. Stay active the best you can and push through. GL.
Hi easeytiger

Will keep you in my prayer 👍

Wishing you every success with your treatment. You sure have had a very bumpy ride, I pray that you can turn that corner, and with your positive attitude you will kick these new mets arses. I will also keep you in my prayers.
Wishing you the very best

Best of luck brother
Thank you all for your kind words. We will see where this line of treatment gets me. I'm optimistic, no point being anything else.
Good luck, easeytiger, I am pulling for you. Since you joined this forum, your posts have definitely struck a chord with me - I measure my time only as it allows me to see my children grow. I am in a "better" place than you in that I was diagnosed at 49 and now, 3.5 years later, we have one child in college and our other one graduates high school next year.
I hope you find a peer here, but since brain mets only occur in 0.16% of members in our horrible little club, there should only be 20, and you may be the expert. Keep on shining the light, brother.
Wish you all the best with your treatment. Stay positive.
Not so fun having your doctor tell you they are flipping a coin. At least you found some honesty. We are all hoping for the best. Go get 'em easeytiger.
I hope you're treatment goes well. You have a good attitude and spirit. Easy 😺
Treatment is now all complete. Pretty easy and I now have a week or two until an MRI. So I'll rest up, work on my pottery and help the kids with their school work. Now I can't drive I feel a bit trapped but waiting to hear if I'll be able to drive again. And I get my latest PSA today, I have a feeling it's rising and I may well need a blood transfusion. Fingers crossed.
