Bit of a shock
No high blood pressure , not overweight and walked every day ,however I did have a slight stroke 30 years ago( never found a reason) and should have taken aspirin and
statins
regularly ( I didn't) Can't praise NHS enough.

Ibuprofen gel on blood thinners
Hi - I’m on
statins
, beta blocker, clopidogrel and aspirin post stent. I’ve been mobile - playing football again. But now have a really painful spot in my foot that’s impacting my exercise (feels like a bruised joint).

Almonds, aspirin and statins - "Apolipoprotein B underlies the causal relationship of circulating blood lipids with coronary heart disease"
For those interested in such things, a couple of publications point to the protein known as ApoB as causative of/correlating with coronary heart disease: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/19004895v1 https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIRCRESAHA.119.315019. ApoB is found in a number of lipoproteins

Immunotherapy (Keytruda) and COC protocal
I am taking mebendazole, metformin and
statins
. Have yet to add the antibiotic. I am wondering if I can continue the meds while on immunotherapy. I have also written to COC and await their reply.

Statins, neuromuscular degenerative disease and an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis-like syndrome: an analysis of individual case safety report
CONCLUSION: We emphasise the rarity of this possible association, and also the need for further study to establish whether a causal relationship exists. We do advocate that trial discontinuation of a statin should be considered in patients with serious neuromuscular disease such as the ALS-like syndrome

On the letter sent to my GP it says I have LAD 25% stenosis and therefore suggest I should be put on
statins
. I guess this means I have heart disease, Im not sure whether I should be at all concerned about this. Any thoughts would be welcome. By the way I am 68 years old.

Anxiety 1 year after CABG
I am on 1.25mg of bisoporol and
statins
along with Amlodipine. My blood pressure also has become erratic. Sometimes fine and sometimes quite high. At these times my fear is the bypass may have failed. I have gone to A&E a couple of times and ECG and bloods have been okay.

Similar faulty analysis of statin and thyroxine treatment in clinical trials
Malcolm Kendrick's latest blog interested me considerably in that it showed up the close similarities in the incorrect treatment and comment on clinical trials conducted both for
statins
and for thyroxine treatment.
