I'm new on here so thought I'd share my story(so far).
Went to do a bit of photograpy on 25th August 2019. Pretty warm day .. walked up hill to van.. felt breathless..chest pains and sweating. Drove the 3 miles home ( bit stupid ) and wife called an ambulance. The paramedics were here in 15 mins and Within 2 hours I'd had 3 stents/ angioplasty in LAD .Still had my walking boots on! Had Cardiac arrest in CCU and I'm now on the usual shed full of meds plus Warfarin due to clots in heart. I'm 61yrs pretty fit bloke. No high blood pressure , not overweight and walked every day ,however I did have a slight stroke 30 years ago( never found a reason) and should have taken aspirin and statins regularly ( I didn't)
Can't praise NHS enough. Feeling pretty good now, hoping to start Cardiac rehab soon and glad to be here

Thanks Maisie. I've been referred to Cardiac rehab as we are over the county border so to speak. Just got given a do it yourself rehab book here .. which whilst very informative, isn't quite the same !lol
Frightening isn't it? I felt like I had indigestion and then started to feel unable to breathe. Rang 999 - ambulance here within 6 minutes. That's pretty much all I remember until coming around 20 hours later to be told I'm in hospital. had a heart attack, then went into cardiac arrest, got me going then put 1 stent via keyhole and put into induced coma for a while!
As you say, can't praise the 999 response and the treatment in hospital enough.
Good luck with cardio rehab, it's a brilliant service that gets you back on track physically and mentally
The consultant in her discharge note to my GP described my stay in hospital in a series of bullet points and ended by saying "he's had a stormy journey"
Take it easy till you get to rehab, the rehab I went to had a lot of talks on the various aspects of heart problems which were also very beneficial
