I have recently been signed of by my EP at St Thomas’s following successful ablation two years ago so fingers crossed that this continues. On the letter sent to my GP it says I have LAD 25% stenosis and therefore suggest I should be put on statins. I guess this means I have heart disease, Im not sure whether I should be at all concerned about this. Any thoughts would be welcome. By the way I am 68 years old.

Not sure why you haven't had any replies and I have nothing to offer - sorry! Could be that it is the weekend....
I am not a doctor, but it appears that you may have a 25% blockage in your left anterior descending artery (LAD). It is on the left side of your heart and is one of three arteries that supplies blood to your heart muscle. However, being put on statins to reduce your cholesterol would help to clear the blockage or prevent it from becoming worse (so is eating a low saturated fat and cholesterol diet). It is my understanding that as we get older, we all get some build up in our arteries. I have read that a blockage of the LAD has to be 70% or greater to cause any significant problems. Just make sure your GP stays on top of it and checks on it regularly and if your are still concerned, discuss it with you GP. I hope this information has been helpful.
Thank you Jo, yes probably best if I try the BHF site.
